Tim Walz Kneecaps the Campaign Again With New Comments About Electoral College

Townhall Media

How many times have we heard the lie from Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, as well as Democrats and media, that former President Donald Trump is somehow a "threat to democracy" or a threat to the Constitution?

Indeed, Harris lied about Trump again during the bizarre interview with Howard Stern, where she, perhaps the weakest presidential candidate we have yet to see, also claimed that Trump was too weak to stand for the American people. The guy who was shot in the ear and stood up, in the face of possible bullets, for the people.

It isn't Trump using lawfare against political opponents, trying to get them kicked off ballots, censor speech, or undermine the Supreme Court.

If one becomes president or vice president, you have to swear to uphold the Constitution.

But while Kamala's Stern interview was airing on Tuesday, guess what her running mate was doing on the same day?

Calling for the end of the Electoral College.

“I think all of us know the Electoral College needs to go,” Walz said at a campaign fundraiser hosted at California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s home on Tuesday, according to pool reporters in the room. “We need a national popular vote that is something. But that’s not the world we live in.”

Walz has long been vocal in his belief that the Electoral College system, which decides the presidential winner, should be nixed in favor of the popular vote.

At an earlier fundraising event in Seattle Tuesday, Walz called himself “a national popular vote guy” and added “But that’s not the world we live in,” according to the New York Times.

When he calls for the end to the Electoral College, it means he doesn't understand the basic principles of our Constitution and why the Founders employed the Electoral College. And/or he just wants California and New York to control the vote to dictate Democratic wins, that they want to overturn a critical part of the Constitution to ensure their own power. It also means he doesn't care about the interests of the smaller population states. I hope people in those states think about that when they are voting, how this guy would like to cut their legs out from under them.

But we've already seen that he doesn't understand basic constitutional concepts like the First Amendment.

It's also another indication that the Democrats are concerned about losing, knowing that the Electoral College count may not be on their side in this election. And maybe he's already laying the excuse for why they lose.

Now, the Harris team is trying to run cover for his comment and denying that it's an "official" position of the campaign. Check out this word salad release from the campaign — this is as bad as Kamala speaking:

Walz’s call for eliminating the Electoral College is not an official campaign position, a Harris campaign official told CNN.

“Governor Walz believes that every vote matters in the Electoral College and he is honored to be traveling the country and battleground states working to earn support for the Harris-Walz ticket. He was commenting to a crowd of strong supporters about how the campaign is built to win 270 electoral votes. And, he was thanking them for their support that is helping fund those efforts,” a campaign spokesperson said in a statement.

Harris has previously said on Jimmy Kimmel's show in 2019 that she was open to the discussion of eliminating the Electoral College.

Moreover, doesn't the left hand know what the other left hand is doing here? What kind of chaos is this? Or is it just Mr. Knucklehead "misspeaking" again? He got nailed for his habit of lying on "60 Minutes." Then, in his response, ended up lying about something else and getting nailed by a reporter and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.

You have to think that the rants that Kamala is having about and/or at Walz about how he keeps kneecapping the campaign have to be epic. Of course, he can't kneecap it anymore than she's already done herself.
