Kamala Harris finally did an interview with the National Association of Black Journalists on Tuesday. As my colleague Jennifer Oliver O'Connell explained, it was far different from how they treated former President Donald Trump when they interviewed him; they treated her with kid gloves.
That being said, she still had trouble, and she couldn't even give straight answers to obvious questions like are Americans better off under Biden-Harris than they were four years ago. Of course she couldn't give an honest straight answer to that question, because we all know what the honest answer would be. No.
But she still wanted to paint herself not as the incumbent, but as the "new way forward."
She pulled out the same false talking points that Joe Biden always uses, including about "creating 16 million new jobs" when they did no such thing. And that was pretty much how it continued, with the canned talking points. She couldn't do a spontaneous interview with real questions, as Trump does all the time. And she surely couldn't be as funny and endearing as he was on "Gutfeld" on Wednesday night.

Our friends at Twitchy caught some more interesting things about the interview.
First, there was how the campaign treated the interview, referring to it as a "campaign event," which Fox commented on. The NABJ issued a statement that the interview "wouldn't be a campaign rally."
NABJ is a campaign event for Kamala Harris.

Hard hitting questions like " Why is joy so important to you?" has no journalistic integrity.
They expect the black vote, offer nothing. pic.twitter.com/QuNY2tf7ll
But then the Harris campaign just listed it as a "campaign event." So that tells you what the Harris team thinks about the NABJ, and it's not a good look. The campaign is not treating them with respect; they're treating them like the NABJ is just there to be their scribes. And the NABJ doesn't help when they don't press her more on the important issues and her lying.
What was also interesting was the interaction at the end of the "campaign event." Watch as Kamala can't get out of there fast enough, and she can't even be bothered to look at the audience as she throws up a dismissive wave. Oh, but most of all check the faces on the interviewers at around 13 seconds in.
Okay I missed this when it happened. 1) Look how fast Harris bolts the stage and 2) look at the moderators faces after she leaves. Just watch the whole interaction: pic.twitter.com/tOi26L6yf4

Their faces are something else. As though they were all thinking, "What the heck was that?" It didn't look like they were feeling the "joy."

lololol the moment at 0:13 is something straight out of "Parks and Recs." https://t.co/ugndV5XXEt

That looks like the real Kamala. Oh, and a little comparison.
Compare how Trumps leaves the NABJ interview to how Harris leaves. One interacts with the crowd and notices individuals. One can't run away from the crowd fast enough. https://t.co/g91l2s7nfA pic.twitter.com/TiNzEPrVuM
