Doocy Nails WH on Cover-Up of Biden's Decline, As Their Answers Just Make Everything Worse

The Biden team was stuck between a rock and a hard place on Wednesday trying to explain — while not really explaining — why Joe Biden stepped aside from the presidential race. He had a couple of options, one being admitting he had health issues/was in cognitive decline. If he did that, then he and his team would be ripped apart for lying and covering that up. And it would prompt calls for him to step down now if he was admitting he was in bad health. The other option was to admit he was doing it to help them win, which meant acknowledging he would likely lose to former President Donald Trump.

Either of those choices was completely anathema to Biden, who hates being challenged.

He didn't really give a reason In his speech. But if it was a reason, it was more the latter. He seemed to say he was doing it to "unite the party" and "save democracy." That's basically admitting he was shoved aside to improve their chances to win (in their minds). That's not how our system is supposed to work, and it's telling the primary voters that how they voted doesn't matter — Democrats are going to bypass them to pick who they want no matter what the voters say.

What WAS That?

Reporters grilled White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the reason earlier in the day before Biden spoke, and she just made things worse.

KJP claimed he "didn't step down from campaigning or from running because he didn't believe he could serve!"

So then, why did he? A reporter asked why Biden said it was in the country's "best interest" for him to step aside in his letter —did it have to do with his health? Biden actually said he believed it was in the "best interest of my party and the country."

Jean-Pierre said it had "nothing to do with his health" and that he was fully capable of serving, even in the next four years, if he wanted to.

But Fox's Peter Doocy wasn't buying any of it, and he nailed her on the cover-up of the cognitive decline.

"It was hidden from the American people," Doocy said bluntly. "So, who ordered White House officials to cover up a declining president?"

KJP protested that there was no cover-up, but there are no other words that fit when we know that the decline has been there for some time. She doesn't want you to believe your own eyes and ears, the evidence you've seen of Biden yourself. But at this point, no one believes them anymore.

The bottom line is that they have some nerve talking about "saving democracy" when they're the ones stomping on the American people's vote. If they can do this election manipulation now and get away with it, they will try it again, and our votes will become truly meaningless.
