So many things were wrong with the way that the Secret Service provided security for former President Donald Trump at his Butler, Pennsylvania, rally. It was a colossal failure when Trump was grazed in the ear, Corey Comperatore was killed, and two other men were injured. It was so bad that even Democrats on the House Oversight Committee raked Secret Service head Kimberly Cheatle over the coals earlier this week; she was forced to resign from the pressure.
But new, potentially damaging information continues to drop in the case.
The latest information comes from whistleblowers who said that local law enforcement repeatedly offered the Secret Service drones to use at the Butler rally--but the Secret Service rejected them:

“According to one whistleblower, the night before the rally, U.S. Secret Service repeatedly denied offers from a local law enforcement partner to utilize drone technology to secure the rally.”

That's concerning and needs to be followed up. The Secret Service reportedly didn't have drones of their own flying over the site -- the only drone reported so far was from the shooter, Thomas Crooks. As we previously reported, the Trump detail had had requests for more resources turned down, and there were reports that resources were delegated to Jill Biden's dinner instead of the much larger rally, as well as that Jill Biden had 12 post-standers as opposed to Trump being given three. That was insane given the potential threats against Trump and the size of the rally.

On top of that, there is new information allegedly about the shooter and, perhaps, his motivation.
As our sister site Townhall explained, the founder and CEO of Gab, Andrew Torba, said he received a law enforcement request about the shooter's possible account on that site.
You can see some of the posts that Torba says are in question:
NEW: Thomas Matthew Crooks made nine posts on Gab supporting President Biden, COVID lockdowns, and Biden's border policies, according to Gab Founder Andrew Torba (@BasedTorba).

The account, Torba he said they have not confirmed as real, posted nine times on the site, but hasn't posted since 2021:
🚨Approximately 30 minutes ago, Gab learned that Thomas Crooks, the deranged Joe Biden supporter who attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump, may have had an account on our platform. We are unable to confirm that the account in question actually belonged to him.

While the account made very few posts on the site, the majority of them were in support of President Biden. A number of posts in particular expressed support for President Biden's COVID lockdowns, border policies and executive orders. We have saved the account data pending receipt of a search warrant.
Torba said he was disclosing that the shooter appeared to be a Biden supporter--at some "personal and business risk," from political and media backlash who wouldn't want that revealed:
We are disclosing this information at significant personal and business risk. If the past is any guide, defying the D.C. consensus by publishing the first definitive evidence that the shooter was a Biden supporter - something Democrats and their media allies have tried to cover…

He said he'd faced troubling inquiries in the past.

He noted he got an emergency disclosure request:
Some more context: the reason we know is because we received an emergency disclosure request from a law enforcement agency.

That would seem to fit with the $15 donation we already knew about through ActBlue for a progressive cause. But that's certainly not going to help the left's "he's a Republican" narrative, if this is true.
