Ranking Member of House Intel Committee, Other Dems Deliver Blows to Biden As They Tell Him to Step Aside

The Biden team is clearly engaging in delusional thinking, talking about how President Joe Biden showed off his foreign policy chops during the NATO press conference. At this point, they would likely say or do anything to try to save him, they're so desperate to dig him out of the hole that he's in.

But not even Democrats are buying into this scenario that Biden and his team are trying to sell us.

Now add another big name to the list of those who are calling on Biden to step aside: Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee. Himes took apart Biden's delusion about his status in the race with a very public post on X.

“The 2024 election will define the future of American democracy, and we must put forth the strongest candidate possible to confront the threat posed by Trump’s promised MAGA authoritarianism,” Himes, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement. “I no longer believe that is Joe Biden, and I hope that, as he has throughout a lifetime of public service, he will continue to put our nation first and, as he promised, make way for a new generation of leaders.”

He said he thought not only was he going to lose, but he could cost them the Senate and the House as well.

“I’m far from the only Democrat that believes this, that the numbers, the trajectory, what Americans feel in their bones right now suggest not only that Joe Biden would lose this race but that he or we would lose the Senate and the House,” he said on MSNBC in an interview.

“And the stakes are so high that we need to set aside that loyalty and that poetry and that romance and the charge of the light brigade and we all go down together in favor of some really hard-nosed analysis about whether this is the way forward,” he added.

Rep. Scott Peters (D-CA) also said he didn't think Biden could win and should step aside.

Peters, who has served in the House since 2013, wrote in a statement “the President’s record of accomplishments will not translate into similar success in his reelection campaign.”

“The debate raised real concern among elected leaders, supporters, and voters that the President will not be able to wage a winning campaign,” he added. “This was not a blip.”

Rep. Eric Sorenson (D-IL) also called on him to step aside.

Add them to the 13 other House Democrats and one Senate Democrat, Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT), who have come out so far. There are probably a lot more behind the scenes who think the same way as well but just haven't come out yet. Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) didn't call on Biden to step aside but did say he thought he was going to lose in a landslide.

This certainly destroys the fiction in Biden's mind where he thinks he's likely to beat Trump and refuses delivery on all the polls. He claimed no one was telling him this.

Yet even Democrats are telling him this, blowing up his fantasies.
