Kamala Harris may not be occupying the top spot in government, but she does tend to imitate Joe Biden in one area -- a tendency to say ridiculous and/or untrue things. She also tends toward incoherence, although it's a different variety than Biden shows. Her words are clear, they're just mostly empty and repetitive, while it's hard to even know sometimes just exactly what Biden is saying.
Harris also has a gift for saying things that just make you scratch your head and say, "What the heck?" because what she's just said is so bizarre. This is one of those times.
She claims she's a sports fan but listen as she claims to a reporter that she'll give him a "history lesson," that women "were not allowed to have brackets" [for the NCAA tournament] until 2022.

As usual, she is wrong. pic.twitter.com/QaRSsngSxP
She had many people wondering exactly what she was trying to say since this was so untrue. What does she mean "not allowed"? Did she think people were forbidding brackets from being made? People were being carted off to the Hoosegow for making them?
She was immediately discredited after folks dug up by a tweet from her own husband - a tweet sent to her in 2021, so she had to have seen it. Yet she still said what she said now.

Then, her own words from 2021.
Here's Harris in 2021 (a year where women's college basketball supposedly wasn't "allowed to have brackets"), tweeting about ... her husband's women's bracket. https://t.co/K2qoxezOpF pic.twitter.com/UiMuZzl4iN

So how could she possibly think it wasn't until 2022 now?
ESPN even interviewed Barack Obama filling out both men's and women's brackets in 2010.
Indeed, one X user produced a record of a women's bracket from 1982.

The reporter just nodded when Harris said what she said about brackets. Either he has no idea or as is true so often, the media just wouldn't call Biden and Harris out when they say bizarre, untrue things.
What's additionally truly wild here is she makes it out like filling out brackets is some huge thing and that somehow having them or not having them is so important to women's sports.
But you know what's more important? How about protecting women's sports and making sure competition is fair? That was supposed to be the whole purpose behind Title IX. Where is the Biden/Harris team at in protecting the rights that the law was supposed to ensure? They're blowing it up with the positions they have been taking. How about having a "Title IX Day of Visibility"?
