WATCH: Alleged 'Porch Pirate' Finds Out It Isn't a Good Idea to Take a Parcel From Angry Homeowner

Porch pirates are a big problem that people have to deal with, and you have folks trying all kinds of creative ways to steal things from other people. Los Angeles' KABC posted video of a very creative and "trashy" thief hitting a home in Sacramento, California.

I'll have to give it to that person, both covering their identity and blending in with what appear to be other bags on the porch--although you can see what looks like sandals and I'm guessing a woman's feet.

But, it didn't work out so well for a porch pirate in New York City.

Carlos Mejia has a home in Queens and he is just fed up with people swiping packages off his porch.

He decided he was going to try to catch the "porch pirates" in the act by leaving “decoy packages” outside his door.

He said, “I was just trying to make an example for those out there doing the same thing … stealing from others.”

Now, video that Mejia has posted of what happened next has gone viral.

He got a bite. The suspect was seen on video coming onto the porch, and then stuffing one of the packages into his backpack. It was at that point he got a big surprise.

I'm thinking the guy must have had the fright of his life, when he saw Mejia storming out of his front door with the bat.

“Oh, s**t, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo," the guy cried out.

"Get on your f**king knees," Mejia demanded after he grabbed the guy.

You can see the look on the guy's face here.

There's more video you can see on X  how the police came in response to Mejia's call and found the guy there, wailing. He apparently tried to jump the fence to escape, according to the video; that also didn't go well, as he must have gotten spiked on the pointy fence.

He started wailing, "Get me an ambulance, Get me an ambulance!" He also asked the police what he was being arrested for, as if he didn't know.

Thirty-six-year-old Victor Stazzone was booked on charges of petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal trespass. Hopefully, now he gets properly prosecuted but it's NYC, so that's always a question. He already got more than he bargained for in his showdown with Mejia.

Had the suspect gotten away with the package, he wouldn't have been very happy. The package contained some old French fries and a little message from Mejia that was rather blunt, “Keep stealing our s**t and you wont [sic] make the next year b**ch a** f**king c**t!!”

I'm guessing that might be the last time anyone hits Mejia's porch to steal his packages.
