As we reported earlier, the Senate just passed the aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan package.

As our sister site Townhall reported, Sen J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Sen. Rand Paul (D-KY) warned hidden within the provisions was an "impeachment time bomb" to take out former President Donald Trump if he should win and then change approach in regard to Ukraine.
I just sent the below memo to every one of my Republican colleagues in Congress.
— J.D. Vance (@JDVance1) February 12, 2024
Buried in the bill’s text is an impeachment time bomb for the next Trump presidency if he tries to stop funding the war in Ukraine.
We must vote against this disastrous bill. pic.twitter.com/uKqet9s0xd
Republicans need to be aware that this bill, supported by Mitch McConnell and almost all of Senate GOP leadership, sets in motion the next hyper-partisan Trump impeachment (before he’s even elected!) https://t.co/PHu9PunArn

Vance wrote in his memo:
"If President Trump were to withdraw from or pause financial support for the war in Ukraine in order to bring the conflict to a peaceful conclusion, 'over the objections of career experts,' it would amount to the same fake violation of budget law from the first impeachment, under markedly similar facts and circumstances."
"Partisan Democrats would seize on the opportunity to impeach him once again. The Washington Post has reported that tying President Trump’s hands on foreign policy is very much top of mind for Biden administration officials, who are openly boasting about their plans," the memo continues, calling the clause an impeachment time bomb.
Vance explained that and other problems with the bill in an interview with Tucker Carlson. He said it was terrible on policy and not just funded Ukraine in 2024, but in 2025 and 2026. He also claimed that one of the main points of the bill was to tie Trump's hands to conduct foreign policy as he saw fit, should he win.
Ep. 74 The Ukrainian government canceled elections and killed an American journalist. Congress is about send them another $60 billion. J.D. Vance is trying to stop it. pic.twitter.com/x6mQFfuZFL

"If that diplomacy does not include sending additional billions to Ukraine, there is a theoretical argument, a predicate, if you will, for impeaching Donald Trump because they have tried to tie his hands,” Vance said.
Now the bill would still have to pass the House and that's a real question as to whether it would pass. Vance said that was the best place to kill the bill or make it better.
Democrats will try to do anything to get what they want and tie any challenge against them. But Republicans don't have to go along with it.
Remove the impeachment time bomb from the Senate bill - or vote no.
