If you look at the policies of New York City when it comes to illegal aliens, you would have to think they were insane.
Mayor Eric Adams has been screaming about how many illegal aliens are overwhelming the city and depleting resources, although he hasn't even had anywhere near the number of people that border states like Texas have had to deal with.
But then in the next breath, NYC then does things that would make illegal aliens want to come.
Not only are they providing food and shelter, but now they are also providing pre-paid credit cards to some illegal aliens who they are paying to put up at hotels. They're starting off with a test case of 500 people but then they plan on expanding it to the other people they're putting up at hotels, some 15,000. This card would allow them to buy their own "culturally relevant" food and they would have to sign an affidavit that they would only spend it on food or baby supplies. If they violate that, they risk being kicked out of the program. A family of four would get nearly $1000 and the card would be refilled every 28 days.
The city is already paying out more than $137 million for 750 hotel rooms for illegal aliens. The city is now housing 66,000 people across various facilities and it is expected to cost them $10 billion through 2025. How is that even sustainable when the city is already financially underwater with bad policies? And that's all on the backs of the taxpayers who don't get free pre-paid cards to pay off their taxes.
Here's a thought: maybe if you are not providing food and shelter, and now free money, they would not be coming?
And on top of all that, NYC is now also waving a flag for those who would also be attracted by the failure to hold people accountable for crimes. Not only would they let you out for all kinds of theft, but as we've now seen, you even can get released on bail for beating up cops and kicking them in the head. Then they can flee and you'll likely never be able to hold them responsible for anything. What kind of law is that?
Does anyone think that NYC -- if they can't even hold violent criminals in jail -- is going to be following up on anyone who spends this money they're handing out on something other than food and baby supplies?
Of course, the only reason the illegal aliens are even here is the failure of Joe Biden to enforce the law. This is where Democrats have led us -- to chaos and order turned upside down. If you enforced the law and secured the border, none of this would be happening. But all Biden is doing is trying to blame Republicans, when he was the one who broke the system the minute he occupied the office.
I'm thinking that some homeless people/poor are just going to start identifying as illegal aliens to get in on the benefits.
Trans-nationals? Why not?
