On Monday, California held a debate for candidates who are running for the Senate seat opening resulting from the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein. California Gov. Gavin Newsom appointed Laphonza Butler to fill out the remainder of the term, but Butler isn't running in 2024. The people who qualified for the debate were Rep. Adam Schiff (D), Rep. Barbara Lee (D), Rep. Katie Porter (D), and baseball legend Steve Garvey, the only Republican candidate in the group.

Adam Schiff Gets a Scolding and a Schooling After Spreading Border Drowning Falsehood

The Democrats tried to get together and beat up on Garvey over President Donald Trump. There was a lot of back and forth over it. But Garvey had at least one good retort on the matter.

“I’ve heard it said Trump was terrible for the world,” Garvey said.

“He was," Porter claimed, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

That's when Garvey lowered the boom, “We were safer under him than under Biden.”

Manifestly true and one of the many reasons Trump is generally leading Biden in the polls. Biden has led the world into chaos, and everyone knows it.

Perhaps the best response by Garvey was when he nailed Adam Schiff over Russia collusion. It caused Schiff to absolutely blow a gasket.

Garvey said, "I believe you were censured for lying."

Schiff blew up, interrupting Garvey, trying to talk over him to prevent him from getting his point out and arguing that he was "censured for standing up to a corrupt president" despite the fact that he was censured by the House for not telling the truth.

Garvey said Democrats are so locked into their narratives and divisions, "They never listen."

Schiff insisted on answering, saying he was called a liar by Garvey. Truth hit a little too close to home for Schiff there. Then Schiff started ranting about Trump and spinning the censure, acting as though he was some hero for spreading malarkey about Russia collusion to smear Trump.

That's when Garvey finished him off, "Sir, you lied to 300 million people. You can't take that back."

That was a beautiful mic drop, and Schiff was left speechless, unable to respond while blinking furiously at that finishing line.

Now, I don't know how Garvey is ultimately going to do in such a Democratic state, but I'll give him all the credit for delivering that blow to the execrable Schiff for all of us — well deserved and well done.
