As we reported, a big indictment was dropped in California against Hunter Biden late on Thursday.

Biden was hit with nine tax charges, including four counts of failure to pay taxes, two counts of filing false tax documents, two counts of failure to file taxes, and one count of tax evasion. As we noted, the indictment alleges that Hunter engaged in a "four-year scheme" not to pay taxes of at least $1.4 million. The indictment alleges he spent it on drugs, women, and a lot of high living rather than paying the IRS. He even spent more than $680,000 on "payments - various women." He could face 17 years under the charges, but it would likely be less than that.
Here's a further breakdown from CNN, where they make a good point that Special Counsel David Weiss has said it's an "ongoing investigation."
CNN: Hunter Biden has been charged with nine federal tax crimes, including three felonies, for a long-running scheme to evade millions in taxes.

What might that mean? Ongoing investigation or no, the added indictment may well mean that he isn't going to be testifying before Congress and/or he takes the Fifth, assuming he shows up.
But beyond that, as Catherine Herridge explains, the indictment's framing suggests that more could be coming. The indictment lays out a lot of work done by Hunter for foreign entities, including Burisma, CEFC, and Romanian interests. As Herridge notes, it also describes Hunter Biden as a "lobbyist."
Hunter Biden's latest criminal indictment "seems to leave the door open" for charges related to his corrupt foreign business deals, including foreign lobbying violations, says @CBS_Herridge. pic.twitter.com/dIh2m4M39U

Lobbyists have to register under FARA, she explained. So that "seems to be leaving the door open" for potential FARA charges to come. Those would likely further get into questions that Joe Biden would not like.
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) cheered the indictment and credited it to the two IRS whistleblowers who came forward. and said the DOJ needed to investigate all the people involved in the "influence peddling," according to Fox's Chad Pergram.
Two brave IRS whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, placed their careers on the line to blow the whistle on misconduct and politicization in the Hunter Biden criminal investigation.
The Department of Justice got caught in its attempt to give Hunter Biden an unprecedented sweetheart plea deal and today’s charges filed against Hunter Biden are the result of Mr. Shapley and Mr. Ziegler’s efforts to ensure all Americans are treated equally
Unless U.S. Attorney Weiss investigates everyone involved in the Bidens’ fraud schemes and influence peddling, it will be clear President Biden’s DOJ is protecting Hunter Biden and the big guy.
So we'll have to see what happens with Hunter's testimony or any further charges to come, but it's fair to say that he's in a lot of trouble, and it's going to be harder for Joe Biden to sweep this under the rug and lie about it. He looks so bad here trying to deny his contacts with Hunter's associates.
