WH Dishes Up Shameful Plate of Malarkey About Thanksgiving Prices

Joe Biden and Bidenomics have cost us more for everything, from food to housing, since he took office.

Yet, perhaps what's most annoying is that on top of that, Biden and his team want to sell the fiction that the economy is just fine; the American people just don't understand it yet. But they will, with a little more propaganda. Then, too, they try to convince us that they're saving us money under Biden when the exact opposite is true.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre played that game on Bidenomics in general, as we reported earlier. But then she showed how shameless they are with what she said about Thanksgiving prices, according to the White House transcript.

Just in a time — just in time for holiday travel, gas prices are down $1.70 from their peak, airline tickets are down 13 percent over the last year, and car rentals are down about 10 percent.

And as we start preparing our Thanksgiving meals, grocery inflation is at its lowest level in over two years, with prices for eggs, milk, bacon, and fresh veggies lower than last year.

In fact, according to the American Farm Bureau, the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner fell this year.  Prices are down for turkey, stuffing, peas, cranberries, pie crust, and whipping cream.

Now, what kind of malarkey is this? If you raise the prices astronomically with your bad policies and then reduce them a little bit from how bad it was last year (through no help from you), you don't get to claim the credit. It's still far higher for most things than when Biden came in. For a classic dinner for 10 people, it costs $61.17, according to the annual survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF).

In 2022, the price was $64.05 total, up more than $10 in 2021, when it was $53.31. This year’s decline is largely due to turkeys being less expensive this year, the report noted.

Costs are still 25 percent higher than they were in 2019 when the Thanksgiving meal would run you $48.91. Prices were the highest in the survey's history under Biden in 2022. KJP is leaving out that little tidbit.

What did she name as Biden's great achievement in this spiel? Getting rid of junk fees. As though that would have any real effect on anything. Then, on top of that, KJP tried to blame Republicans.

This isn't the first time they've tried something like this. They did it with Independence Day prices a couple of years ago and were properly taken to task by the public for it. They even earned a Community Note.

If they think they're fooling anyone with this present performance, they are sadly mistaken. The latest NBC poll has Biden at only 38 percent approving of his handling of the economy.

So, no, KJP, people are not falling for it.
