In the wake of the horrible attack on Israel by Hamas, what we saw from some people on the left was a truly morally bankrupt response. 

We saw members of the Squad, like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), calling for an immediate ceasefire. That translates to don't respond to the attack and take out the terrorists who attacked you or we will criticize your "overreaction" for responding.

The group that she has been a part of  -- the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) disgracefully marched in support of Hamas' action against Israel in a variety of cities across the country, including New York. How do you support an attack that targets women and children — that involves kidnapping women, children, and even grandmothers? Part of what the NYC-DSA called for was ending "75 years of occupation," which essentially means they want to end the state of Israel.

How deep does this anti-Israel narrative run on the left? 

Very deep, as Mark Hamill and Kylie Jenner found out when they dared to differ from that narrative and posted support for Israel. You cannot say targeting and killing hundreds of people is wrong, or the left will set upon you. 

Jenner had an Instagram post sharing a photo with the Israeli flag, saying, “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel!”

But she was hit with such a backlash that she deleted her post within an hour. 

Here's a sample. 

“Don’t get involved in politics and say that u support i**ael. P@lestine has been suffering for ages,” slammed one person on the socialite’s most recent post. 

“Are u even human if u are with zionists,” wondered a second person.

She also got a lot of Palestinian flags in response. 

Not only did that show the intolerance to variation from the narrative, but it showed that Jenner didn't have the courage of her convictions when she immediately deleted it in the face of the furor. Then, she got more criticism for the deletion. 

Mark Hamill committed a similar sin in the far left's eyes.

They scolded him for going against his character, Luke Skywalker, casting the terrorists who attacked Israel as the "rebels" in this context.

It was also funny how much he infuriated people on the left. They're so used to embracing Hamill's hatred of former President Donald Trump that this threw them for a disgusted loop. He got a lot of "you f**king idiot" in response. They were willing to throw him under the bus when he didn't act as they would want. 

I'll give Hamill some credit for not yet caving like Jenner; his post is still up. So, at least he was still standing by some of his convictions. 

But chances that Hamill will realize the problems with his side from this experience? Chances that he will reevaluate? It should be instructive, but I don't expect him to learn anything from it.
