We’ve not only seen the disturbing politicization of some of our institutions, like the FBI, under Joe Biden. We’re now also seeing alleged retaliation for those who would speak out against such damage to our system of justice. We now have an IRS whistleblower formally calling it retaliation when they axed the whole IRS team who had been working on the Hunter Biden case.
That should concern all Americans, whatever side of the political aisle they might be on. Not only is retaliation against whistleblowers incredibly wrong, but it also chills other people from coming forward and helps oppressive governments maintain their power. It’s shameful that it’s happening here.
According to an interim report released by the House Committee on the Judiciary, Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, there has been even more retaliation, according to FBI employees who have spoken out against the “politicized rot” that has taken place.
According to an interim report released by the Committee, the whistleblowers have been suspended or had their security clearances revoked. The Weaponization Committee was holding a hearing on Thursday going into a lot of the problems.
Several current and former FBI employees are detailing the “abuse and misconduct” that has been going on.
“The disclosures from these FBI employees highlight egregious abuse, misallocation of law enforcement resources and misconduct with the leadership ranks of the FBI,” the report obtained by Fox News states.
The report said that the FBI whistleblowers described the FBI’s alleged “retaliatory conduct” against them “after making protected disclosures about what they believed in good faith to be wrong conduct.”
Among the people alleging retaliation are Steve Friend, a former special agent who said he was suspended after making disclosures about how they were manipulating Domestic Violence Extremism cases and how they were handling related to Jan. 6. He also had his security clearance revoked this month. He said they didn’t adhere to FBI practice and created a “false impression” of the danger from such extremism.
That false impression is completely in line with what Joe Biden is always pushing about domestic extremism and trying to hype up the “evil MAGA extremists.”
Marcus Allen who is an FBI staff operations specialist also had his security clearance revoked this month. Allen got in trouble for daring to send public articles to his colleagues which he said was part of his job for “situational awareness.”
“Because these open-source articles questioned the FBI’s handling of the violence at the Capitol, the FBI suspended Allen for ‘conspiratorial views in regard to the events of January 6th,'” the report states, adding that the FBI did not give him approval to seek outside employment during his suspension.
The FBI is claimed they had cause to take action against the two. They claim that Friend “espoused an alternative narrative” about what happened on Jan. 6 and that he refused to participate in the arrest of a suspect.
“During his communications with his management about his refusal to participate, he espoused an alternative narrative about the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021,” the FBI said. “On September 3, 2022, Mr. Friend entered FBI space and downloaded documents from FBI computer systems to an unauthorized removable flash drive. The FBI then required Mr. Friend to attend a Security Awareness Briefing (SAB) regarding his actions, but he refused to do so.”
The FBI also said Friend “participated in multiple, unapproved media interviews, including an interview with a Russian government news agency.”
“Mr. Friend alleges he obtained approval from the FBI’s Office of Public Affairs (OPA) to participate in these interviews, but OPA did not provide such authorization,” the letter states. “Mr. Friend’s failure to follow FBI policies relating to social media contacts and his lack of candor poses a security concern.”
They claimed that they had “security concerns about Allen because he “espoused alternative theories to coworkers verbally and in emails and instant messages sent on the FBI systems, in apparent attempts to hinder investigative activity” despite being told not to do so. What was an example of those “alternative theories”?
“As one example, on September 29, 2021, Mr. Allen sent an email using his FBI email account to multiple colleagues that contained links to websites and urged recipients to ‘exercise extreme caution and discretion in pursuit of any investigative inquiries or leads pertaining to the events of’ January 6,” the FBI said. “Another example included an email containing a link to a website that stated, among other things, ‘By now it’s clear that federal law enforcement had some degree of infiltration among the crowds gathered at the Capitol on January 6,’ to which Mr. Allen commented, ‘brings up serious concerns about USG participation.’”
“Alternative theories” translates to you’re not allowed to do your job and question the narrative, or point out any truths that might be calling that narrative into question. That’s, indeed, part of why the whistleblowers are allegedly coming forward. It shouldn’t be about a narrative or politics but getting to the truth of the matter and upholding the law, wherever that might lead you, good for the powers that be or not.
As the House report framed it, it’s an effort to “purge” people who hold “conservative beliefs” or who are questioning that narrative.
“The leadership at the FBI and Justice Department have weaponized federal law enforcement against everyday Americans, seeking to silence those who dare to have a different viewpoint,” the report states.
The only way that we have a hope of stopping all this is voting the Democrats out across the board, and cleaning house of the political rot.
