As we reported on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and defamation in the civil case of E. Jean Carroll, but the jury rejected her claim of rape.
Carroll has made a lot of bizarre comments over the years and there were a lot of problems with the case, to say the least. But the only reason they were able to bring a sexual assault claim was because of a new law that was passed in New York in 2022 called the Adult Survivors Act. That Act, signed by Democrat NY Gov. Kathy Hochul allowed for a “one-year lookback window for survivors of sexual assault” to sue their alleged abuser “regardless of when the abuse occurred.”
Now, E. Jean Carroll’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan, is making a bit of a bombshell claim. She admitted that Carroll was involved in helping get that law passed.
BREAKING: E. Jean Carroll and her lawyer admit on CNN that they worked with New York Democrats to pass a law allowing people to sue for a sexual assault case outside of the 20 year window.
“Well, E. Jean actually helped to get that law passed. It passed last year. Uh we filed.… pic.twitter.com/aX6QVWDWjV

“The fact that New York passed this law, the Adult Survivors Act,” CNN’s Poppy Harlow said. “They passed it just a few years ago. Were it not for that law, you never would have been able to bring this case.”
“Exactly. This would never – I would never have this window, this year of having the ability to bring a lawsuit for rape. Robbie can explain it better,” Carroll responded.
“E. Jean actually helped to get that law passed,” Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, said. “It passed last year. We filed – it was Thanksgiving Day, the first day you could sue. We filed it just after midnight on Thanksgiving. And there are a lot of other women throughout the state and, hopefully, throughout this country, that they will get other laws like this passed in other states. And New York women should use this law while it’s still around, which is until next Thanksgiving.”
So, wait, you mean they’re saying she had a hand in getting the law passed that enabled her to go after Trump and file a case against him on Nov. 24, 2022, shortly after Trump declared for president on Nov. 15? Otherwise, she would not have been able to pursue Trump on this. And the suit was funded by a big Democratic donor? Nope, no problem there. I think it’s safe to say that many viewed this revelation with a huge side-eye, with some calling it out as a political effort.
Now, I will note that she’s made some bizarre remarks in the past, so I’m not sure I would believe it if it was just her saying it, but the lawyer said it. What exactly did she do to help get it passed?
We’ve seen Democrats do all they could to try to get Trump over the years from the hoax of Russian collusion to the impeachment efforts. At this point, Democrats will do anything they can to stop Trump in his run because they know how weak Joe Biden is and they are scared out of their mind that Trump could beat him. That’s why we’re seeing things like the Bragg case, with Democrats throwing anything they can at him, in the attempt to incapacitate him. Yet Trump is still standing and still in the fight. It’s also having the opposite effect of rallying people around Trump.
