As I reported, Megyn Kelly took on Jill Biden calling herself “Dr.” The left melted down in response.

Yes, Jill Biden has a doctorate, an Ed.D. But as I noted, it was a consensus in academia that outside of academia it was pretentious to insist on being called “Dr.” outside of your academic setting. Not to mention, extra pretentious if you did it for an Ed.D.

As Kelly notes, Jill Biden has been insisting on this for years, everywhere she goes. In the story I wrote the other day, I cited a Los Angeles Times story that talked about this from 2009. But since the media could be a little more honest about the Bidens then, they pointed out how this went against the general media approach which was not to call people “Dr.” unless they had some form of a medical degree so as not to confuse the public.

But the media flipped on that to accommodate Jill Biden’s desires. Now everyone must comply, or you will be attacked by the left as mean, evil, and not sufficiently recognizing her hard work.

Kelly said that she would call someone with a doctorate “Dr.” on her show if they insisted on it and/or it was relevant to the topic being discussed and that she did call her “Dr. Jill” when she interviewed her but said Jill Biden wants to be called it everywhere.

Like my parents, Kelly’s dad had a Ph.D. and would have found this ridiculous.

“Clearly, she has got an inferiority complex to the husband,” Kelly said. “She [Jill Biden] has said as much. That’s why she even got her doctorate to begin with. She wanted to feel important.”

Kelly pointed out how even Whoopi Goldberg fell for this and proposed Jill for surgeon general.

As I noted, it’s also confusing since now so many people on the left think Jill Biden has earned a Ph.D. when she doesn’t.

But then Kelly got down to the greater point — that even here on this silly insistence that she be called “Dr. Jill,” they demand we comply with the narrative.

“So typical of the left these days, you have to use the exact words they tell us to, or we are being disrespectful. We have to engage in their fantasies about themselves — whether it’s the men who are now women, or the pronouns…and words like “field” and “rule of thumb” have to be banned. Just shut up, I’m not doing that!”

That’s the bottom line here. Yes, Jill Biden has a doctorate. But she also seems to have insecurity just like her husband does, to insist that she be referred to this way, everywhere, outside of an academic setting. That may be why we’re all in this position because even with Joe Biden’s issues, he wanted to be president and no one held him back because they wanted that prestige. But beyond that, the liberal media flipped on a dime. Now we have them and the Biden people demanding we comply with this to accommodate Jill, and in so doing, they changed the nature of how they dealt with the subject, leading to more confusion.
