We’ve been seeing a lot of reactions to the FBI raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

Conservatives were understandably upset since they care about the rule of law and the politicization of the FBI. Political pundit and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino ripped the action, calling it “third-world bulls**t” and said it was a “clarion call” for everyone to get off their seats and vote the Democrats out of office. Trump family members, Lara and Eric Trump also blasted the raid, with Eric noting that they even cracked open the safe that was in the home, but there was nothing in it. Lara called it a “weaponization” of the FBI.

But now there’s an alarm being raised by the person you might truly think would be the last person to object to a raid on Donald Trump — former N.Y. Gov. Andrew Cuomo — once the man some Democrats proposed to put up against Donald Trump in the race for the presidency before his scandals drove him out of office.

Now that’s surprising. When even Cuomo gets it, you know how bad it is. Of course, the Jan. 6 “investigation” had already blown all their credibility with the biased actions that they have taken against Trump. That’s just a political action to try to smear him and prevent him from running again.

It wasn’t just Cuomo, former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang was also concerned about the signal this was sending.

I’m no Trump fan. I want him as far away from the White House as possible. But a fundamental part of his appeal has been that it’s him against a corrupt government establishment. This raid strengthens that case for millions of Americans who will see this as unjust persecution.

But Cuomo is right. If this is about the National Archives wanting documents and Democrats trying to take Trump down or prevent him from running for office, it would be an unconscionable action to do this to a former president and possible future candidate, especially when there were all kinds of other avenues to get the documents. This is a truly unprecedented action. And as they properly note, this is not sitting well with the American people. I already can’t count the number of people I have spoken to who are outraged by this action, including Democrats. It’s going to drive anyone who was on the fence over to Trump and the Republican side — to stand against a banana republic type of action like this.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) pointed to Cuomo’s words and demanded that the warrant be released and the FBI be upfront about what was going on because so far they’re not talking.
