Amazon founder Jeff Bezos seemed to have some enlightenment over the weekend.
He let loose on Joe Biden in a series of tweets, first pointing out how what Joe Biden said about taxing corporations to solve inflation was disinformation and “misdirection.”
The newly created Disinformation Board should review this tweet, or maybe they need to form a new Non Sequitur Board instead. Raising corp taxes is fine to discuss. Taming inflation is critical to discuss. Mushing them together is just misdirection. https://t.co/ye4XiNNc2v

Bezos didn’t leave it there. He responded to a tweet criticizing Biden’s claim that he had lowered the deficit with his actions.
This is so silly. The deficit is decreasing because we’re not doing pandemic aid anymore, and federal receipts are up because of inflation. Congress, or the Biden administration, didn’t do anything to lower the deficit. https://t.co/kvlLPpsUO9

Bezos said this was more “misdirection” by Biden and the only thing that saved him from himself and having worse inflation was Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) stopping Biden from spending more.
In fact, the administration tried hard to inject even more stimulus into an already over-heated, inflationary economy and only Manchin saved them from themselves. Inflation is a regressive tax that most hurts the least affluent. Misdirection doesn’t help the country. https://t.co/a8cygcunEG

That didn’t make the White House happy and they fired back at Bezos.
“It doesn’t require a huge leap to figure out why one of the wealthiest individuals on Earth opposes an economic agenda for the middle class that cuts some of the biggest costs families face, fights inflation for the long haul, and adds to the historic deficit reduction the President is achieving by asking the richest taxpayers and corporations to pay their fair share,” deputy White House press secretary Andrew Bates said in a statement.
“It’s also unsurprising that this tweet comes after the President met with labor organizers, including Amazon employees,” Bates added.
Nothing that the White House says is rebutting the points that Bezos made and Americans already know that the Biden team has only increased inflation, making everything harder on the middle class.
But Bezos put a finer point on it.
their best to add another $3.5 TRILLION to federal spending. They failed, but if they had succeeded, inflation would be even higher than it is today, and inflation today is at a 40 year high.

“Look, a squirrel!” Bezos blasted back. “This is the White House’s statement about my recent tweets. They understandably want to muddy the topic. They know inflation hurts the neediest the most. But unions aren’t causing inflation and neither are wealthy people. Remember the Administration tried their best to add another $3.5 TRILLION to federal spending. They failed, but if they had succeeded, inflation would be even higher than it is today, and inflation today is at a 40 year high.”
So not only have the radical nature of the Democrats and their lies moved Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and others who previously might have called themselves liberal, we now even have Jeff Bezos — someone who has been all-in on advancing the Democratic narrative — calling out Biden on his lies. It sounds like he’s not going to be coming out for Biden anytime soon. It’s like they’re all saying enough already of the narrative. That’s a threat to Joe Biden and the power of the Democrats. You can tell how they shoot back at Bezos. The problem is that Bezos is the one on solid economic ground here. Biden is the one who either has no idea what he is talking about or who ignores the fact that more government spending increased inflation because he wants to continue spending us into oblivion.
Economist Milton Friedman agrees with Bezos.

Why the change from Bezos? True movement or strategic because he thinks the Republicans will be bringing changes come November? Whichever, he doesn’t seem afraid about throwing down with Biden and skewering him publicly. When you lose Bezos, you just may be in trouble.
