House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) finally had enough of being batted around by the progressives and decided that she was going to put the bipartisan infrastructure bill on the floor for a vote to make the progressives fish or cut bait and go on record.
But it ultimately was the Republicans who helped the Democrats bring it over the line. Even as some of the progressives were sitting out and holding the line, at least 13 Republicans crossed the aisle to vote in favor of infrastructure, and every single one of them should face a primary challenge for going along with this monstrosity.
Vote is CLOSED and Dems are ecstatic on the floor right now. Very long standing ovation.
In the end, 13 Republicans voted in favor
SIX Democrats opposed, all liberals.

Many of these Rs are in Problem Solvers Caucus, which helped broker this deal with Senate centrists earlier this year https://t.co/DF55Folwr1 https://t.co/C4BvopxNCP

As we said earlier, the Dems intend to vote on Build Back Better before Nov. 15 now with commitments from some of the moderates to vote for it if the CBO scores meets their satisfaction.
But as I said, because they left in the objectionable things like paid leave that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and other moderates in the Senate weren’t going to sign onto, this is basically a message-sending/face-saving message to make the House look like they are doing their job when they didn’t do anything to get the Senate on board with it. It was all they could do to even get the House aboard.
