AOC Adds Yet Another Disgraceful Spin About Capitol Riot During CNN Interview

CNN is out with an interview of what Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Delusional-NY) thought during the Capitol riot and boy, is it one steaming, huge pile of b.s.

Now, let’s start off with the basic principle that AOC often has extreme takes that aren’t always grounded in reality. But she pushes a narrative that the media likes so whether she makes sense or not, they are going to try to make a “thing” out of her.

But this interview was definitely all kinds of crazy.

According to CNN, AOC told Dana Bash that she didn’t just think she was going to be killed, she also thought she would be raped if the rioters found her. You can see the video at the link (sorry for having to link to CNN).

“Well that impact was so doubled that day is because of the misogyny and the racism that is so deeply rooted and animated that attack on the Capitol. You know, white supremacy and patriarchy are very linked, in a lot of ways. There’s a lot of sexualizing of that violence. And, um, I didn’t think that I was just going to be killed. I thought other things were going to happen to me as well.” Bash asks her if she thought she was going to be raped. She responds, “Yeah.” They go on to call it a “stunning revelation” and then do nothing at all to fact-check her claims.

It’s a stunning piece of something alright.

So, a few things.

First, let’s start with the bald statement that misogyny and racism “animated” the riot. Um, does someone want to point to me what evidence supports this? Where are all those misogynistic actions? Sexualizing of violence? Huh? What “sexualizing” was happening during this riot? What did this have to do with white supremacy and patriarchy? She basically just says whatever pops out of her head whether it has a basis in reality or not. But CNN is right on it, pushing it out there, whether it makes sense or not.

But on top of that, as we reported previously, she wasn’t even in the Capitol building. As Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) explained, rioters never even came near their hallway. There’s no evidence to support that they ever tried to get into her building. Mace has the office two doors down from that of AOC. Mace made it clear that there was never any physical danger coming from rioters to AOC. That prompted a furious attack on Mace by AOC.

AOC had an overreaction to what she said was a Capitol Police officer coming to evacuate her because of the potential threat from the bombs planted at the RNC and the DNC. As far as I know, this officer hasn’t come forth to confirm this story. Instead of thanking him, she demonized his coming to her office, acting as though he posed a threat of some sort.

Now she’s revisiting that and adding yet another spin, and it’s disgraceful.
