Joe Biden has said repeatedly that he didn’t discuss his son’s business with him.

But for someone who “doesn’t talk about his son’s business,” he seems to trip across his son’s business associates a lot.

Now there’s more information breaking that shows how untrue his claims are.

According to the New York Post, Vice President Joe Biden met at a dinner with Ukrainian, Russian, and Kazakhstani business associates of his son’s in a Georgetown restaurant on April 16, 2015, emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop reveal.

An email from Vadym Pozharskyi, a Ukrainian executive at Burisma, thanked Hunter for introducing him to his father.

“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together,” Pozharskyi wrote on April 17, 2015.

“It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure.”

Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma at the time.

In addition to Pozharskyi, the people invited to the dinner included Russian billionaire Yelena Baturina, the wife of the former Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov. Baturina was the person who reportedly wired $3.5 million on Feb. 14, 2014, to Rosemont Seneca Thornton LLC, the firm co-founded by Hunter and Devon Archer. This transaction was first revealed by a Senate Republican inquiry and it was flagged for suspicious activity. There were also three Kazakhstan officials including Marc Holtzman, the chairman of the state’s largest bank, Kazkommertsbank. Also included were a Mexican ambassador and members of the World Food Program. Hunter Biden was also on the board of the World Food Program at the time.

One of the emails from Hunter on the dinner said that the reason for the dinner was “ostensibly to discuss food security” but that “Dad will be there.” Devon Archer sent an email to Hunter.

He finished the email: “Obviously save a seat for your guy (and mine if he’s in town.)”

Hunter replied: “I think your guy being there is more trouble than it’s worth- unless you have some other idea.”

Devon Archer had been a senior advisor to John Kerry. It’s not clear if that who is being referenced as “your guy.”

It’s not clear that everyone invited attended. Baturina pulled out, according to another email.

Rick Leach the founder of the WFP USA and Holtzman sent emails indicating they had attended and thanking Hunter for the evening. Holtzman also said he looked “forward to seeing you soon and many opportunities to work closely together.”

Now one of the things that’s fascinating about this dinner was that in October of last year, the NY Post broke a big story about the email from Pozharskyi, acknowledging meeting Joe Biden. Now we know it was about this dinner and this is more of the backstory on the meeting. But at the time in October, Biden’s people initially denied this ever happened because the meeting wasn’t on Biden’s “official schedule.” Then they said they couldn’t rule out that it might have happened informally. In other words, it happened and they knew there could be information out there that would drop and show that it happened, so they had to hedge their bets.

So basically not only is Joe Biden a big liar when it comes to never talking about Hunter’s business, but we have to ask: Why is he lying unless there’s a lot to cover up here?
