Here comes the first of Joe Biden’s gun control executive orders.
Jen Psaki announced that the orders would be signed tomorrow. She didn’t say exactly what they would encompass, saying he would detail more on them tomorrow.
But Politico has the scoop on what they may include, according to Townhall.
“Biden will direct the administration to begin the process of requiring buyers of so-called ghost guns — homemade or makeshift firearms that lack serial numbers — to undergo background checks, according to three people who have spoken to the White House about the plans. He is expected to be joined at the event by Attorney General Merrick Garland,” POLITICO reported Wednesday. “Other executive actions remain unclear. But stakeholders have speculated that the president could announce regulations on concealed assault-style firearms; prohibitions on firearm purchases for those convicted of domestic violence against their partners; and federal guidance on home storage safety measures.”
There’s been a rush on gun buying, exactly because people have been fearful of what Biden might be gearing up to do.
Most recently March 2021 was the highest month-on month-record with 2.3 million background checks, only surpassed by March 2020 at the beginning of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic.
Biden has been behind anti-gun efforts in the past. After the shooting in Newtown, CT, Barack Obama tasked Biden to push for the biggest gun restrictions since the Clinton days. But Biden after months of talking, Biden failed to get any legislation through and it’s unlikely that they would pass anything now. That would appear to be why he is resorting to executive orders which are likely to be unconstitutional and you can bet your bottom dollar he will be hauled into court for whatever he proclaims.
Biden has shown he has no idea what the heck he’s talking about when it comes to guns, despite claiming he does. He made these infamous comments about getting a shotgun, which was then put to music.
Then there was this infamous exchange in March of last year where he told a voter he was “full of sh*t” on guns and threatened to take him outside. Indeed it was Biden who had no idea what he was talking about on guns or anything else.
Gun rights advocate Dana Loesch had a great question for Biden.
Does it include bringing charges against members of his family for stealing a handgun and falsifying a 4473? https://t.co/PvOWZnTBiV
