Trump Exercises His Classic, Acerbic Wit to Ask a Great Question About the Durham Investigation

Have you been wondering if we were ever going to hear anything further about the investigation by John Durham on the Russia probe?

We were promised some action. Now, investigations take awhile. We get that. But what we got instead under Attorney General Bill Barr seems to have been to run out the clock with precious little action. There was just enough action against a bit player, Kevin Clinesmith, exposing some of the funny business going on, but not enough to actually hold anyone who was really more responsible to account. Clinesmith pled guilty to doctoring an email that was presented to the court to be able to continue to spy on a Trump advisor.

So, when the Biden people took over, people were naturally concerned that they would kill whatever Durham might still be going after.

President Donald Trump is no longer on Twitter, but yesterday, he issued a statement — which for all the world sounds a lot like one of his tweets and  raises the question which we all have been asking.

“Where’s Durham?” Trump declared. “Is he a living, breathing human being? Will there ever be a Durham report?”

Ah, there’s only one Trump. Twitter isn’t quite the same without that acerbic wit.

But he’s, of course, correct — where is Durham? Where’s not just a report but actual action against the folks behind this? If the answer to that is that the Biden people have killed off the last part of this, then we need to know that, too.

Durham was asked to resign from his position as U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, but he continues officially in his position as special counsel to investigate the Russia probe.

The Russia collusion lie has been debunked, but the many on the left are still pushing it. It caused an incredible amount of division, from which we are still suffering, in addition to being an unprecedented use of governmental power against political opponents — in some ways potentially the biggest political scandal perhaps in the history of the country.

Durham was appointed in the spring of 2019. Yet, we’ve heard nothing formally since he issued a comment stating that the origin of the Russia probe wasn’t what the Horowitz report was suggesting it was.

According to the Washington Examiner, during questioning of the new Attorney General, Merrick Garland, Garland declined to promise he would protect the Durham investigation or that he would make a report from Durham public.

Where’s Durham, his report, and action? We all deserve answers.
