Tucker on Trump's Statement About Being Banned From Twitter: Crackdown on Civil Liberties 'Is Here Now'

Twitter permanently banned President Donald Trump’s personal Twitter account, allegedly for inciting comments, after Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) asked them to suspend him.

The president then tried to post about his suspension on his presidential account @POTUS.

Trump spoke about the coordination of the Democrats and Big Tech to shut him and speech down.

“As I have been saying for a long time, Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight,” Trump declared, “Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me – and YOU, the 75,000,000 great patriots who voted for me.” He said they were looking at “the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future” to “stay tuned” for that.

But then as Tucker Carlson noted, as he was reading the president’s post, Twitter then removed it and they locked the president’s official presidential account.

Carlson noted what a crazy night it had been and called Twitter’s actions against people on the right, not just Trump, an “unprecedented crackdown” on the “most basic civil liberties we have enjoyed for 200 years in this country.”

As we reported, Twitter was banning influencers on the right and disappearing followers from virtually everyone on the right on the platform.

Carlson noted that the effort to crackdown to supposedly deal with “extremism” would actually cause more extremism. Tucker noted how days after Trump called out the Big Tech to break up monopolies, they have now silenced Trump.

But that wouldn’t stop them and when there is more extremism, they will use that to crack down even more, to consolidate Democrats’ power.

Tucker had on Glenn Greenwald who spoke about the new bill Joe Biden said he was working on “domestic terrorism” that Greenwald said was really an effort to increase their power to monitor political groups, as we reported yesterday.

From Newsbusters:

The Intercept founder Glenn Greenwald joined Carlson and declared this “the initiation of a new war on terror” because the Biden administration will “further criminalize domestic terrorism” by expanding it to include Trump supporters writ large and “increase their power to monitor political groups, to infiltrate them, to criminalize activities that currently are not criminalized, nor should they be.”

“A tiny handful of tech oligarchs are more powerful than any nation state. They determine what we can hear, what we can speak, what is true, and what is false, with zero accountability and zero transparency. They overwhelmingly donated to the Democratic Party and support the Democratic Party,” he added.

Some of the folks on the left like Greenwald are actually calling Biden out on this but the Democrats and some of the GOP don’t see the problem.

Meanwhile, while Twitter is trying to suppress the president of the United States, they have no problem with Communist China and the mullahs in Iran, showing it really isn’t about even handed rules, but suppression.
