After the Capitol protest/riot occurred, I said to my colleagues the folks on the left will use it to go after President Donald Trump, Republicans and Trump supporters in general. They will use it to justify a crackdown on social media and other arenas.
That’s already coming to pass and it only happened yesterday. They’re calling to ban anyone who went into the building from plane travel.
After calls from flight attendants to ban insurrectionists from flights out of DC, the House Homeland Security Committee is now asking the FBI and TSA to add perpetrators to the no-fly list. pic.twitter.com/dvWcRiOVpD

“Given the heinous domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol yesterday, I am urging the Transportation Security Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to use their authorities to add the names of all identified individuals involved in the attack to the federal No-Fly List and keep them off planes,” House Homeland Security Chairman Bennie Thompson said in a statement issued Thursday evening.
The Mississippi Democrat said the ban should include anyone who trespassed on the Capitol [….]
By the way, where’s the crackdown on the Antifa terrorists who fly from state to state?
But the left is not just stopping with going after the folks who were in the Capitol at the protest, they are going after Republicans, and not just because of the riot.
As we reported, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) who was the first senator to announce that he would be objecting to the electoral count, something completely in accordance with the Constitution, is now being punished for that, despite the fact that he had nothing to do with the riot in the Capitol.

Facebook and Instagram have banned the president for at least the next two weeks if not permanently.
Shopify is pulling MAGA material from the Trump Campaign and Trump Organization from its online store.
According to OAN, major corporations are threatening to pull financial support for any Republican lawmakers who challenged the certification, despite the fact that that is completely their Constitutional duty, if they feel they can’t. The left, who has objected similarly in the past to the certification of the count for Republican presidents, is now calling that action “sedition” or “treason” and some of these corporations are falling for this narrative. According to the report, they were considering doing this even before the riot but that’s given it even more gas.
The report from OAN cited Yale School of Management’s Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, that more than two dozen CEOs are considering the move.
Thirty-three chief executives of top companies confirmed they would “100 percent” tell lobbyists to no longer to support those who raised objections to the certification. [….]
“Some of them said it’s important for CEOs to speak up, it’s a moment for you to lead,” he stated. “This is not business as usual. They’re top titans, everything from finance to farming to transportation, manufacturing…quite a number of them were the leaders of the business roundtable.”
Sonnenfeld has noted business leaders are growing concerned push-back from Republicans regarding the certification could lead to possible legislative retaliation from the left.
So the response to fear of censorship is to censor yourself out of fear of the left woke police?
So maybe the Republicans who backed off supporting the objections didn’t just do so because of the riot, but because their money was threatened. This is an effective way of quelling dissent and preventing politicians from doing their Constitutional duty.
Unfortunately I think this is just the start of the crackdown, with the riot as the excuse.
