DNI John Ratcliffe Declares No Intel to Support Russia Probe; Should Be More Indictments, Durham Interim Report

Enough is enough.

How long have we been waiting for a response or any real action from Special Counsel John Durham on the Russia probe?

It seems like forever. It’s too late to make a difference in the election.

But at this point we need it to actually hold anyone accountable.

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe is dropping some hints about the nature of the evidence in the case, in addition to saying that he thinks that Durham should release an interim report. Why? Because Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) are already making noises about trying to kill the investigation.

From Fox News:

“The special counsel regulations not only require a final report, they allow for interim reports, so I’d like to see an interim report that talks about this from the angle of someone that has not only the intelligence community documents that I have, but the law enforcement documents that show there was no proper predicate for Crossfire Hurricane because there certainly wasn’t any given by the intelligence community to the FBI before this illegal spying began,” Ratcliffe told “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“[House Intelligence] Chairman [Adam] Schiff has indicated he thinks that the Durham investigation should end, which is exactly why an interim report would be appropriate,” Ratcliffe continued. “It would show whether or not there’s a good-faith basis to continue. It would protect the work that’s been done. So I would encourage my colleagues over at the Department of Justice and at the FBI and, in particular, now Special Counsel Durham to consider doing that, so that the American people can get the full accounting that they deserve.”

Durham has charged one person so far, former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith. The circumstances behind his alleged crime, lying about Carter Page not being a CIA source and altering an email indicate a big investment in continuing to spy on Page, which of course raises greater questions about other people involved.

Ratcliffe said there was no longer a question of whether there was illegal spying, just “how wide and deep it was.”

I know John Durham has been investigating that, and I’m confident and I’ve said that based on what I’ve seen I think there should be additional indictments. I’m not backing off of that, but he’s the prosecutor. I’d like to hear from him in an interim report, and I think the American people would agree with me.”

Ratcliffe said the intelligence indicates that the “Trump-Russia collusion” claim was “a narrative created by the Democrats – specifically the Clinton campaign.” That’s backed up by declassified notes of former CIA director John Brennan about Hillary Clinton’s “plan.”

The plan was to:

“[T]ie then-candidate Donald Trump to Russia as “a means of distracting the public from her use of a private email server” ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Ratcliffe also declassified a CIA memo sent to then-FBI Director James Comey and then-Deputy Assistant Director of Counterintelligence Peter Strzok, referring to Hillary Clinton’s “plan” to the bureau for potential investigative action.

It’s going to be harder for the Democrats to try to end the investigation now that Barr made Durham a special counsel. But that wouldn’t stop them from trying and they very well could get away with it.

Why? Because they got away with everything else so far. If Biden gets in, trust for the same thing to happen again. They will stop the investigation, Republicans will scream for a few days and then nothing will be done, media will justify it and no one will be prosecuted for interference. Despite all the very same people who would have impeached Trump if he had gotten rid of Robert Mueller.

So Durham should take Ratcliffe’s advice, document everything now and get any indictments out now. They may still take him out, but make it as hard as possible and make it very clear what was done.
