There is no doubt that White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is great at her job. She seems the perfect person to take on a constantly hostile media.

CBS’s Gayle King asked about the Supreme Court nomination controversy and cited a poll that 62% said they wanted to wait for whoever won on Nov. 3 to appoint a new justice. She didn’t cite what poll that was but as we already reported a poll earlier in September before Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death said that a majority of Americans wanted the seat filled if it came up in 2020. But we aren’t run by polls, but by the Constitution. McEnany finished off the Democrats, saying that she would refer Joe Biden to his own words that he would appoint someone prior to the election as did Barack Obama and Kamala Harris in 2016, where they said the seat should be filled without delay.

Mainstream media and Democrats keep pushing 2016, but without noting how the situation was different then, as McEnany pointed out, when there was divided government, with GOP holding the Senate and Obama as President. So if they think what happened in 2016 was wrong, how do they justify holding off now when there’s no excuse or divided government rationale at all? Is their argument really that because we didn’t like what you did before and we thought it was wrong, we should do it again now?

McEnany said that we certainly would be hearing the name which was on one of the two lists this week. Some reports even suggest it might be as early as tomorrow, but McEnany said she didn’t want to get out in front of the president on that.

We give credit to Gayle King for a civil interview, an example of what a media interview is supposed to look like, not the typical mainstream ambush.

In an election year, Presidents have nominated people 29 times. 19 of those times were when it wasn’t divided and 17 were confirmed. 10 were when it was divided and only two were put through. Presidents have gotten people confirmed even in lame duck sessions after the election. So somehow suggesting that because it’s close to the election hasn’t stopped anyone before.
