Attorney General William Barr was driving through Virginia with his protective detail when he suddenly caught sight of something that made him tell his driver to turn around and go back.
He saw people out in front of a police precinct waving supportive flags for the police.

AG to FBI Detail: “Can we make a quick U-Turn? I want to jump out and thank those people.”

His spokesperson, Kerri Kupec described what happened, “That time you’re driving in Virginia and the Attorney General spots a group of people in front of a police precinct showing their support for the police. AG to FBI Detail: “Can we make a quick U-Turn? I want to jump out and thank those people.”
He thanked them for their support for law enforcement and they thanked him right back for his efforts, praising his testimony before Congress.
How great is that and how great is Barr? He’s the man that we definitely need in the breach right now and it says a lot about him that he’d stop everything to jump out and thank these people.
Kudos to these folks as well. This is what we need to see more of, this is the majority of America, not the rioters and not radical progressive Democrats who have taken over the Democratic Party.
All of these people understand the basic importance in police keeping us all safe and all of us understand how easily that the situation in Portland could come knock on our own doors if this is allowed to continue.
During his testimony before Congress, Barr made that point.
From Daily Wire:
“Unfortunately some have chosen to respond to George Floyd’s death in a far less productive way by demonizing the police, promoting slogans like All Cops Are Bastards and making grossly irresponsible proposals to defund the police,” Barr said. “The demonization of the police is not only unfair and inconsistent with principles that all people should be treated as individuals but gravely injurious to the inner city communities. When communities turn on and pillory the police, officers naturally become more risk-averse and crime rates soar. Unfortunately we are seeing that now in many of our cities.
“The threat to black lives posed by crime on the streets is massively greater than any threat posed by police misconduct,” Barr continued. “The leading cause of death for young black males is homicide. Every year approximately 7,500 black Americans are victims of homicide. The vast majority of them, around 90%, are killed by other blacks, mainly by gunfire. Each of those lives matter.”
He ripped into the continuing riots, in particular the attacks on the federal courthouse in Portland.
“What unfolds nightly around the courthouse cannot reasonably be called protest, it is by any objective measure an assault on the government of the United States. As elected officials of the Federal Government, every member of this committee, regardless of your political views or your feelings about the Trump administration should condemn violence against federal officers and the destruction of federal property.
But rather than defend the agents and the U.S., Democrats had been trying to use their very justifiable response to protect their own lives to attack President Donald Trump and his “stormtroopers.”
