In this undated photo, Shaun King poses where he was the lead pastor of Courageous Church in Midtown Atlanta. King, a blogger who rose to prominence in the aftermath of a police shooting last summer in Ferguson, Mo., pushed back against claims by conservative bloggers that his parents were both white and that he exaggerated an assault he endured two decades ago while attending high school in Versailles, Ky. Sounds like Shaun King is at it again.

Now, when last we left this singularly ridiculous person, he was justifying taking down any statues of Jesus that might suggest that Jesus was white, as well as taking down those of his mother, the Virgin Mary, because ‘white supremacy.’

After his comments, there was a rash of attacks on Catholic Churches and statues. Cause and effect? Coincidence?

But in the wake of the shooting of BLM member Garrett Foster in Austin, Texas, Shaun King put up an incredibly false Facebook post.

So for background as we reported previously, Foster and a group of his BLM cohort surrounded a car during one of their marches in the street. According to the police, some in the group were banging on the car. The police chief said that they believe Foster may have aimed his gun at the motorist. The motorist said he then fired at Foster. Then, the police believe that a second person in the crowd fired at the motorist as he was driving away. The motorist called the police and told them what had occurred.

This is one of those stories that everyone should hold their water on until more facts come out, right? Just out of common sense.

But Shaun was off to the races with this one, to his over 1 million followers on Facebook.

So, let’s see. Foster was armed with an AK-47 and was allegedly involved in stopping the motorist’s car. It’s not clear where the fiancee was yet, but if in fact he was pointing a gun at the motorist as the police think may be the case and as pictures appear to show, it would be pretty hard trying to push a wheelchair at the same time. There’s no indication from the police or the videos that the motorist tried to run people over nor did he fire 8 times, according to the police.

King goes on to say how heartbreaking it is and to call him a “modern martyr for civil rights.” No, aiming at a motorist, if he did so, not okay.

Then, because he’s Shaun King, what comes next? The ask for money. It’s what he does. It’s like yes, I know you’re all upset and I’m spreading this fake news to jack it up more, now solve your upset by donating money to the cause I have control over.

So where is Facebook with the hook for his post? As of this writing, it’s still up.

As my colleague Streiff reported, he wasn’t the only one spreading nonsense about the case.
