You want an example of pure media gaslighting?

Democrats and media have been going all in with the crazy story that federal authorities sent “unidentified troops” into Portland to snatch random poor innocent people off the streets.

Here was the crazy comment from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)

Now of course, this is insane. They’re DHS folks, mostly Customs and Border Patrol, who are able to operate within 100 miles of the border, which includes Portland, helping out the Federal Protective Service who protect federal buildings and property. They had DHS badges and POLICE across their vests. Only one video has been floated out there, and it shows them detaining someone across the street from the federal courthouse who’s wearing full Antifa riot gear, appearing like he was just coming from a riot. Not a random person and not “kidnapped.” CBP acknowledged they detained a couple of people and questioned them, the Antifa riot gear alone would be probable cause. But why trouble Pelosi with facts when she can lie about stormtroopers and secret police invading Portland?

She’s out and out lying, and she knows it. And she’s attacking federal law enforcement authorities in order to attack the president. Imagine any situation where it would be justified for a House Speaker who’s supposed to defend the Constitution defends the insurrectionists instead?

But how crazy is the media’s desire to spin this conspiracy about “unidentified troops?”

Check out the utter gall of New York Magazine with this title and picture, “Unidentified Federal Agents are detaining protesters in Portland.”

So you can see the agent is unmasked, has a CBP Bortac (Border tactical group) shoulder patch and his badge number is clearly visible. But “unidentified.” Are they serious?

Then there’s this piece of insanity from Michelle Goldberg at the New York Times:

Trump is “occupying cities” because the feds dare to defend federal property from attack from violent rioting anarchists? How insane is that? These are not people rampaging through the streets, but officers simply protecting federal property. Snatching people off the street “without warrants.” Um, since when do you get warrants to arrest someone for committing a crime right in front of you? Pro tip, Michelle? Yes, you have probable cause to believe someone may be a rioter when they are coming from a riot across the street, dressed as an Antifa rioter.

“The protesters are neither arrested nor told why they’re being held. There’s no way to know the affiliation of all the agents — they’ve been wearing military fatigues with patches that just say ‘Police.'” Complete lie as we can see above. Yes, police can detain you for questioning and not arrest you. What the heck is this woman talking about? She clearly has no understanding of the law or the facts. But this story is now being beamed all over, to jack up the left, demonize Trump and undermine his electoral chances with the middle.
