Police in Washingtonville, New York are seeking help for information for who attacked the memorial the town has recognizing 5 firefighters who died trying to save people on 9/11 at the World Trade Center.
The memorial which recognizes the men, had a big flagpole in the middle of it.
A flag pole was intentionally cut down at a 9/11 memorial In New York and a message was scrawled on what was left. Police believe the same vandals pushed over and damaged a sign for St. Mary's Parish Center a half mile away. #FOX35 @fox35orlando https://t.co/gQC9OkyS1I

Courageous “freedom fighters” near our home cut down the flagpole and vandalized a 9/11 memorial for Washingtonville’s five local fallen FDNY firefighters who perished at the World Trade Center, and then vandalized St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church nearby. https://t.co/mQAd1x9FoR

You can see some more of the damage here.
From Record Online:
The memorial includes a semi-circle of black granite monuments bearing the names of five local victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks, all members of the New York City Fire Department: firefighters Mark Whitford, Bobby Hamilton and Gerry Nevins, Batallion Chief Dennis Devlin and Lt. Glenn Perry. Atop each stone is a replica of a firefighter’s helmet.
The somber, granite-and-brick tribute to the “Washingtonville Five” and the other 9/11 victims was completed on Sept. 7, 2002, in time for the first anniversary of their deaths.
Someone severed the flagpole on early in the morning on Wednesday, using a tool to cut through the composite at the base and then scrawled a message on the pole.
The fact that someone brought a tool to take it down means it was a planned attack and not just some random vandalism. The police said that they didn’t want to reveal the message on the flagpole as the investigation was just getting underway.
What’s curious is that the town appears to be withholding what the message was. Going to guess that that means it was either inflammatory or identifying or both.
Then the same person/people also attacked the sign for St. Mary’s Parish Center about a half mile away, pushing it over and damaging it. They know it was the same person because the eagle from the top of the flagpole was left next to the sign.
Assemblyman Colin Schmitt decried the action against the memorial and the church.
“Evil and hate targeted our community last night. The depraved desecration of the Washingtonville 9-11 Memorial and St. Mary’s Parish Center property is indefensible. These two locations mean so much to Washingtonville and the larger community. The 9-11 Memorial is where we go as a community to honor, reflect and remember the brave heroes who sacrificed their lives combating terror on our own soil. St. Mary’s is a place of peaceful worship and togetherness that lovingly welcomes all members of the community regardless of faith. We will never reach a point where it is acceptable in this country to tear down memorials to our 9-11 heroes or disrupt places of worship. The person or persons responsible must face the full force of law and swift punishment.
The town said they will replace the flagpole and are offering a reward for information leading to the capture of the people behind it. And on the positive side, there was a report that local kids would be out trying to protect the memorial from further damage, which is great to hear.
What was under attack here? Both America and religion.
As we reported earlier, Democrats like House Speaker not only have failed to condemn such actions, they’ve even implicitly endorsed them with statements like “people are going to do what they are going to do.”
Reporter asking about Christopher Columbus statue in Baltimore: "Shouldn't that be done by a commission or the city council, not a mob in the middle of the night throwing it into a harbor?"
Speaker Nancy Pelosi: "People will do what they do." pic.twitter.com/mlSUDIBZRv

So Nancy, will you still say that here? Folks on the left are either supporting or completely afraid to call this stuff out.
Enough is enough. Trump and the Feds are working to stop this, with federal investigations and arrests. But Democrats have been encouraging it. Every Democrat who doesn’t call this out needs to lose.
