Incoming Marquette University freshman Samantha Pfefferle was all set for the start of her college career. She’d been accepted, paid for her housing, had her roommates, she even had a complete class schedule.

But now it’s not clear that she’ll be attending at all after the furor over a Tik Tok she posted.

What did she say or do? She supported President Donald Trump with the Tik Tok video you can see here.

The video has her dancing pointing to a Trump flag and a “Marquette University 2024 sign. It’s labeled “When the libs find their way to your page,” lists captions such as “When people see that I support Trump,” “Then try to hate on me,” and “And think I’ll change my views.” That’s it. There’s absolutely nothing offensive in the slightest.

That apparently was too much for some at Marquette, which is a Jesuit-run university in Wisconsin which you would champion the idea of the university. Apparently, not so much.

She then was harassed by some in the Marquette community including some who threatened her life.

“I hope you get shot,” one commenter told Pfefferle. “I’d pray for you but you’re not worth it,” another user added.

“I was extremely disappointed by the incendiary comments,” Pfefferle told The College Fix in an interview. “The response from my peers has been repulsive.”

So did the school address the threats against her? No. Pfefferle said she was contacted by Brian Troyer, dean of undergraduate admissions at Marquette, who told her her acceptance was “far from certain.”

“[He] had the heart to tell me I wasn’t a student,” Pfefferle said. “This means that my classification is still in limbo and is currently being decided by the administration. I have been accepted, I paid for my housing, I have my roommates, I even have a complete class schedule. If that doesn’t make me a student, what does?”

Not only that, she says that she was then grilled by the administrators about her views in order to judge her “morals,” she explained.

“They also asked me hypothetical questions regarding Dreamers,” she said. “How would I respond if a Dreamer who lived down the hall from me came up to me and told me she didn’t feel safe or comfortable with my views and me being on campus. They also asked me if they thought there was anything I could do to improve my image on campus. They proceeded to ask if I was comfortable with the reputation I have established for myself. The assistant dean asked if I put any thought into the response I would be getting from my videos.”

She is against illegal immigration, statements which she has also made on her social media accounts.

The questions make it clear that their attention was due to the “threat” of her having the “wrong” political opinion.

While Marquette didn’t respond to The College Fix, they told Empower Wisconsin that they hadn’t rescinded Pfefferle’s offer but acknowledged grilling her about her social media accounts. But Pfefferle has received no official word at last report so she’s left hanging. Now, given their reaction, she naturally has concerns about going there at all.

There are still students trying to have her booted from the University but now there are also folks pressing Marquette to respond and support her right to freedom of expression.
