The city put the barriers in place Tuesday in hopes of defining an area where emergency, delivery, and other vehicles can travel through the area while still preserving space for protesters, who have been there since police pulled back from near the department’s East Precinct after recent clashes with people protesting the death of George Floyd, but some protesters Tuesday were unhappy that the barricades were being installed. As we reported on Saturday, there was a shooting in the ‘no cop’ zone occupied by the radical leftists and anarchists in Seattle.

Two people were shot in close proximity to each other early Saturday morning. One, a 19-year-old male, was killed. The other victim, also a man, was in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

But as we reported, part of the problem with trying to help the victims who were shot was their ‘no cop’ nature of the zone and their antipathy toward police.

Police not only had to have adequate protection for their people to go into the zone, but then once inside they had to face screaming resistant leftists who prevented them from getting to the victims.

On June 20th, at approximately 2:30 AM, East Precinct officers responded to a report of shots fired in Cal Anderson Park. This is inside the area referred to as the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP). Officers attempted to locate a shooting victim but were met by a violent crowd that prevented officers safe access to the victims. Officers were later informed that the victims, both males, had been transported to Harborview Medical Center by CHOP “medics”.

This video compiled by the police includes officers’ body-worn camera footage as well as other open-source videos shows what a nightmare it was to get to the area and then imagine having to try to investigate with this going on.

Warning for language.

Then, the man some have claimed a “warlord” was upset with the paramedics’ response. Well, how are they supposed to respond when this is how the police are treated? When they can’t even ensure they would be safe in the area? This is the result of ‘no police’ and it isn’t a pretty sight.
