Ah, the anarchists and radical leftists in the Seattle Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) zone.
They are a constant font of entertainment.
While their compatriots are tearing down symbols of America like the statue of George Washington in Portland, they tried to erect a giant fist statue.
People inside the Seattle “Autonomous Zone” have been working on days to construct and erect a giant black power fist. They used torches to burn wood planks black for the material. They were unable to lift the structure up. pic.twitter.com/MnRlv97jiX

But they had a small problem. They couldn’t figure out how to get it up. Insert joke and things about soy here.
Okay someone in the crowd offered to pay for a crane tomorrow so they were going to stand down but now it’s unclear @KIRORadio #SeattleAutonomousZone #CHOPseattle pic.twitter.com/NIqWqxuJsl

They’ve now placed it safely back on the ground & will (rent) a crane tomorrow to get it placed after someone in the crowd offered to cover $$ @KIRORadio #seattleprotest #CHOPseattle pic.twitter.com/AdruGNUl1i

Now we could point out how there’s this concept of the principle of leverage and that way they were trying to lift it revealed they had no idea about much of anything. Clearly there were no engineers or anyone who knew anything about physics among these folks. Perhaps they needed a little instruction on this from Popular Mechanics.
But once again they ended up having to not be “autonomous.”
After they couldn’t get it up, they ultimately had folks donate to hire a crane to help them lift it up and get it into position, which was probably a good thing. Otherwise if they’d tried it again they might have dropped it on someone’s head like what happened in Virginia when people tried to pull down a statue and it seriously injured one of the participants.
But ultimately with the help of the crane, they did get it up.

Here was the after party, with appropriate elbow-bumping social distancing and some not so appropriate high fives and woke dancing.
