Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) took to the floor of the Senate today and attacked Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC)’s police reform bill in a thinly-disguised jab at Scott.

Scott, who is black, had slammed Democrats and others last week for their attacks on him, according to the Daily Caller.

“Not surprising the last 24 hours have seen a lot of ‘token’ ‘boy’ or ‘you’re being used’ in my mentions. Let me get this straight … you DON’T want the person who has faced racial profiling by police, been pulled over dozens of times, or been speaking out for YEARS drafting this?” Scott said on Twitter.

But as my colleague Sister Toldjah reported, his initial response now just eviscerated Durbin and the Democrats.

It also happens that the kente cloth they wore was connected to the slave trade.

Emblematic of Democratic history.

But then Scott took to the floor to address Durbin and the Democrats more directly and it was powerful.

He spoke about how it was the five year anniversary of the Charleston shooting at Mother Emanuel Church where nine people were shot to death by including Democratic Pastor Clementa Pinckney, a personal friend of Scott’s. Scott revealed how he texted him to ask if he was okay, only to get no answer, because he was already dead.

Listen to what he says, because it’s powerful and what a lot of people need to hear especially anyone taken in by the false choice of what Democrats are selling. He speaks against the false choice of pitting the police against communities of color.

Republicans like Scott want to try to help make things better. But Democrats seem to only want to play election games or push defunding the police which would only make things worse, which would only bring further chaos, which would only hurt black lives, which would only bring further division which radical leftists want.
