Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is not the sharpest tool in the draw. It says a lot about Democrats that this is the guy they put on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Intel Committee.

He tried to take on former acting Director Ric Grenell about declassification and transparency. Grenell has been a champion of transparency, releasing transcripts that showed among other things that while Democrats were lying in public that there was Russia collusion, in private they were testifying there wasn’t any such evidence. It confirmed once again what a harmful hoax it all was and how much Democrats had been deceiving people. So really not a great ground on which to try to pick a fight.

But Swalwell went for it anyway. it didn’t go well. It took Swalwell six days to respond to a tweet from Ric Grenell and Swalwell probably shouldn’t have because he did such an awful job with it.

How is declassifying things “burying evidence?” That doesn’t even make any sense. Translation? He’s really not happy about what Grenell exposed.

Wait, what? This spreads more debunked nonsense. Trump never asked the Russians to hack Hillary Clinton. Her private server was already being investigated at the point he made the comment. He was joking about them finding the emails Hillary Clinton had deleted and left exposed to be stolen because of having the private server. You can’t “hack” what Hillary had already deleted. He said that to expose how careless she was. At the time, the question was were the emails she had deleted out there somewhere because of her carelessness. Plus beyond all that, there was never any Russia collusion as the Obama officials themselves testified, so this is once again an effort by Swalwell to push the same conspiracy theory that has been thoroughly debunked. “The brave intelligence officers?” Would that be the guys who spied on a political opponent’s campaign to undermine it? And Swalwell “chose to check” Trump? No, Swalwell chose to help that effort to undermine our norms.

Exactly. Swalwell has no satisfactory answer for that, nor do any of the other Democrats, so he spreads falsehood and drivel.
