Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden actually did a real interview in person today with CNN’s Dana Bash.
This followed Joe coming up from the basement for the first time yesterday for Memorial Day. His last public appearance had been in March.
But maybe he should have stayed in the basement because he does not take being asked questions or being challenged at all well.
Bash asked him about his “you ain’t black” comment with Charlamagne Tha God. Biden said to Charlamagne that “If you have a problem with figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” when Charlamagne was pressing him for answers to questions about how he was going to help the black community. Bash noted that Biden apologized saying he was being “cavalier” but that in the same interview he had also claimed to be endorsed by the NAACP “every time I’ve run” which the NAACP refuted and Bash said plainly, “isn’t true.”
Biden’s response? He basically avoids answering why he lied about the NAACP endorsing him, simply saying the remarks were a “mistake.” Deliberate lying isn’t a “mistake.” But then he goes on to blame Charlamagne. “I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy with him, he was being a wise guy and I responded, kind.”
Wait, what? Here’s the comment.
"Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black."@JoeBiden apparently feels African Americans who don't vote for him aren't black enough. pic.twitter.com/vd9dkn8eCS

I invite people to draw their own conclusions. Biden was trying to get out of responding to more questions and Charlamagne was just pressing him to answer, as any interviewer would. It was only Biden who was being the (racist) wise guy. This is actually only compounding the original remarks.
Biden can’t ever take being challenged or he reacts nastily, it’s never his fault, even when Bash is giving him every opportunity to clean up his remarks, he has to make it worse.
Biden then says he’s “never taken the African American community for granted, never ever, never once.” I just had flashbacks to Bill Clinton and his “never ever, not once” told anyone to lie about Monica Lewinsky. If you didn’t take African Americans for granted, why did you say that? Why did you lie about NAACP support?
Biden claimed that he’s earned black support with his work. But that’s exactly the question that Charlamagne wanted to ask him and that he begged off of: what have you done? As Charlamagne accurately later pointed out, Biden’s past policies have not been helpful to the criminal justice reform. Meanwhile President Donald Trump has been a champion of criminal justice reform with the First Step Act.
How can anyone vote for Biden with stuff like this?
