The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, lit a match to his campaign yesterday when he told Charlamagne tha God on “The Breakfast Club” that “If you have a problem with figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

Many on both sides of the aisle found his remark incredibly offensive. He was ripped by a lot of folks including Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Fox’s Harris Faulkner, and Democratic Georgia state representative Vernon Jones.

Charlamagne was interviewed later on CNN and he blasted Biden over how his actions in the past hurt the black community.

From Townhall:

“My overall takeaway from the conversation was I heard him talking about things he did for black people back in the day but, you know, ‘What have you done for me lately?’ is my motto,” he explained during a segment on CNN. “You know, I see black communities all across America catching hell regardless of who is in the White House. You know, people like to bring up coronavirus and how it’s hitting black people the hardest. Well, that’s because we have a bunch of underlying conditions created by systemic racism that have never been fixed.”

“As I said before, if you created legislation that hurt then you need to create legislation that helps. It’s just that simple,” Charlamagne Tha God said. “The whole system needs to be dismantled and rebuilt and he’s been a very intricate part of that system.”

He pointed at legislation that Biden had pushed that he viewed as harmful.

“Whether you’re talking about in ’84 with the mandatory minimums sentences for drug dealers, you’re talking about ’86 with the crack laws that gave you more time for crack cocaine and powdered cocaine or you’re talking about the ’94 crime bill,” Charlamagne Tha God explained. “He was really one of those people who was on the front line when it came to drugs and mass incarceration.”

Biden hasn’t done anything about criminal justice reform, but he believes he’s entitled to people’s votes.

But you know who has done something about criminal justice reform? President Donald Trump, with the First Step Act. You know who did get black unemployment to its lowest point in 50 years (pre-pandemic)? Trump. You know who has been working to earn the black vote? Trump.

Biden apologized after the furor yesterday. “I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy. I shouldn’t have been so cavalier,” the former Vice President acknowledged. “No one, no one should have to vote for any party based on their race or religion or background.”

Cavalier? Is that what that was? No, that was honestly what he thought, that he was entitled to the black vote and how dare Charlamagne have the temerity to push for actual answers to his questions, not just platitudes and bull, and ask to take up more of his time? However he spins now, people know exactly what he thinks of them.
