Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who is the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, announced that he would be holding a vote on June 4, to authorize subpoenas for a slew of Obama officials involved in the Russia investigation.

Graham said that he intended to issue the subpoenas as part of his oversight into the investigation and the FISA abuse process.

The South Carolina Republican said the subpoenas would cover “documents and communications referenced in and testimony at a hearing or deposition of any individual named or identified by pseudonym in” DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s December report on FBI’s Russia investigation.

Graham also said the committee will vote on subpoenas covering “documents and communications related to and the testimony at a hearing or deposition of any current or former executive branch official or employee involved in” any Crossfire Hurricane “umbrella” investigations as well as records tied to “or the receipt or analysis of reports prepared by” British ex-spy Christopher Steele, the author of the anti-Trump dossier used by the FBI.

Graham said that included 53 people listed in the IG report and some big names.

Graham said on Monday the subpoenas could demand documents, communications, and testimony from: former FBI general counsel James Baker; Attorney General William Barr; current FBI general counsel and Page FISA signer Dana Boente; former CIA Director John Brennan; former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper; former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinsesmith; fired FBI Director James Comey; former State Department official Kathleen Kavalec; former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe; former FBI lawyer Lisa Page; former FBI special agent Joseph Pientka; former Obama United Nations Ambassador Samantha Power; former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice; former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein; Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson; fired FBI special agent Peter Strzok; FBI Director Christopher Wray; former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates; and others.

He said part of the issue might be a question of timing with the Durham investigation and not interfering with that. Durham is reportedly considering criminal action against some involved in the Russia investigation. Durham was also reportedly looking at John Brennan including for allegedly suppressing evidence that showed Russia wanted Hillary Clinton to win in 2016.

The IG report exposed significant FISA abuse even including falsely changing an email to represent that Carter Page had not been an asset for the CIA when he had, which was then submitted to the FISA court. New footnotes in the report also show that the FBI was aware that the dossier was likely Russian disinformation.

Several of the officials that Graham listed made requests for Flynn intelligence reports. Many of the officials submitted the request while at the Treasury Department. Graham is also proposing a subpoena for Steve Ricchetti, who served as chief of staff to Joe Biden when he served as vice president. An unmasking request was submitted under Biden’s name on Jan. 12, 2017.

Graham is hoping to subpoena former FBI officials and agents who oversaw Crossfire Hurricane. Many of the proposed witnesses are well known to the public, including Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. But Graham is also requesting subpoenas for agents whose names have not appeared as prominently in the press.

One of those is Stephen Somma, an FBI counterintelligence agent who has been identified as “Case Agent 1” in the IG report. The report said that Somma was “primarily responsible” for some of the most significant errors during Crossfire Hurricane.

Put these guys under oath and now, with more information grill, them as to what they knew when and why many of them were lying to the American people.
