It seemed like old home week back at the White House Wuhan coronavirus briefing on Thursday.
Media were being themselves, asking the president questions with their typical biased spin.
Kristen Welker, the White House correspondent for NBC, asked him why the United States was not prepared, such as with more testing? President Donald Trump was of course ready with the reply was, cutting the reporter off at the knees.

I’ll tell you how prepared I was before others I called for a ban on people coming in from China long before others and I believe it was your network called me a racist pic.twitter.com/DAscpxImCu

“I’ll tell you how prepared I was before others I called for a ban on people coming in from China long before others and I believe it was your network called me a racist,” Trump said.
Ba da boom.
Exactly. Media called it racist. Democrats like Joe Biden called it racist. Indeed, had he been in power, who knows how many lives he might he have cost? Things to ponder for any independent out there thinking how to vote. Trump has been on top of this since January, cutting off travel and setting up a task force, while Democrats were busy trying to impeach him, calling the ban racist and saying the task force had too many white men.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), said that likely saved a lot of lives, as did Trump’s later move to cut off traffic from Europe when the virus became more prevalent there.
Dr. Anthony Fauci says “there’s no question” that if President Trump had not restricted travel from China “there would have been many more travel-related cases…"

Dr. Fauci has also explained that the delay in testing had nothing to do with Trump but with a glitch in the original CDC test as well as regulations that inhibited the state labs from testing without FDA approval. He said that was not due to the president and would have happened under any president, but it was a problem in the way that the system was set up which normally makes sure that the testing has approval but the regulations inhibited the immediate response to the vast need for testing immediately. Now he said those issues had been worked out going forward, which is why there have been more testing this week.
That wasn’t the only golden moment from Trump for the media. He joked that they were all sitting a little close to each other in the briefing room, not in accordance with the social distancing guidelines, so perhaps he should get rid of a few of them.

You’re actually sitting too close. We should really probably get rid of Another 75-80% of you pic.twitter.com/ZuONg7SyKv— Heather Champion (@winningatmylife) March 19, 2020
Now, that’s pretty good, Trump in trademark form.
After two days of tempered measured pressers, we're back to Trump and the media fighting with each other. So that's great that things are getting back to normal.

It’s good to be back to normal. Like a boss.
