We’ve seen a lot of dumb things form media in regard to the Wuhan virus. Doubtless we’ll see more as this whole thing shakes out.
But here’s a tweet definitely in the running for dumbest Wuhan virus concern so far from Chris Megerian, the White House reporter working for the Los Angeles Times.
Trump is at the White House addressing a national emergency over a global pandemic while wearing a baseball hat you can buy on his campaign website. pic.twitter.com/ChCUMNmybv

So the president is apprising on issues concerning a pandemic and you’re concerned about his hat? Really?
Um, he’s the president of the…wait for it…USA. So yes, he can wear a hat that has his name and says USA, as he has many times. He has others as well as jackets, too. Apparently Chris hasn’t been paying attention or is new.
There is nothing to do with campaigning which is what this character seems to be suggesting.
But in any event, just for him, it doesn’t violate any rules and the Hatch Act doesn’t apply to the President.
The Hatch Act defines employee for purposes of the act as “any individual, other than the President and Vice President, employed or holding office in—(A) an Executive Agency other than the General Accounting Office [Government Accountability Office]; or (B) a position within the competitive service which is not in an Executive agency….”
People let Chris have it.
BREAKING: The President of the United States wears "USA hat" and apparently loves America.

Omg. I’m sitting at home isolated from seeing my grandkids and this *’&$@*^€ is bitching about what cap @realDonaldTrump decides to wear? I’ve witnessed some unbelievable bad press in my lifetime but this #COVID19 has really shown how #TDS has infected the media. 🤡 all of them

Stay strong during this difficult time of a man wearing a hat.
