As Joe Biden was on stage addressing the Super Tuesday crowd, there was a pretty scary moment that makes you go, what the heck?

Where was the security?

First a woman rushed the stage and got right next to Biden, screaming “Let dairy die!” before a male security person pulled her away. Biden’s wife Jill stood in between him and the protester.

Then at least one other person rushed the stage and again got right next to Biden when Jill Biden stopped her, then one of Biden’s chief aides, Symone Sanders, basically quickly launched herself at the person in a linebacker move and wrestled the woman off the stage, not even needing the male security person who showed up a beat later.

Sanders later joked that she “broke a nail” in the encounter.

From The Hill:

The activists yelling “let dairy die” were members of the group Direct Action Everywhere, which had previously interrupted events for Bernie Sanders in Nevada last month and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) earlier this week.

“Biden’s ties to the dairy industry and indifference to the suffering of farmed animals — something he basically never talks about — flies in the face of everything he claims to stand for,” a spokesperson from Direct Action Everywhere said in a statement.

This group got very close to Bernie Sanders as well.

This is not acceptable and I’m assuming the Secret Service has the duty on all the major candidates. This is complete fail that these folks were able to get so close.

Great job, Symone Sanders and Jill Biden. But it shouldn’t be them having to protect the candidate.

The Secret Service really needs to get on the ball here because someone dropped it.
