Man at Fox Town Hall Busts Bloomberg for Pushing Gun Control When He Has Armed Security, 'Does Your Life Matter More Than Mine?'

Mike Bloomberg got busted during a Fox town hall on his gun control stance on Monday in Virginia, a stop that’s become a hot bed of defense of Second Amendment rights with the efforts to take away guns in the state.

Bloomberg is well known for making extreme comments when it comes to gun control and being behind the radical Moms Demand group.

An audience member, Clarke Chitty, asked Bloomberg how he could justify being for more gun control when he has an “armed security detail.”

From Daily Caller:

“How do you justify pushing for more gun control when you have an armed security detail that’s likely equipped with the same firearms and magazines that you seek to ban the common citizen from owning?” the man asked at a Monday evening Fox News town hall in Manassas, Virginia. “Does your life matter more than mine or my family’s or these peoples’?”

The audience loved the question and cheered resoundingly for it. Gotta love it, perfectly stated.

Bloomberg’s answer, for what would seem a likely question he might get, was pretty bad. It was basically he was rich and running for President, so he gets threats, so it’s cool for him. If you are adversely impacted, oh, well.

“Look, I probably get 40 or 50 threats every week, ok, and some of them are real,” Bloomberg responded.”That just happens when you are the mayor of New York City or you are very wealthy, and if you are campaigning for the president of the United States you get lots of threats.”

Yes, and some people live in dangerous neighborhoods or face their own threats. So? What’s your explanation for wanting to restrict their rights?

He claimed that his security was “well trained” and that he really wasn’t trying to restrict anyone’s right.

“Let me talk about firearms for a second,” he continued. “The Second Amendment gives you the right to bear arms. Nobody suggests that we’re gonna change the Constitution, even if you wanted to I don’t think you’d get it done, so nobody’s gonna take your right to bear arms. The Supreme Court said you can have reasonable restrictions. The only restrictions which I’m in favor of is to prevent us from selling guns to people with psychiatric problems, criminals or people that are minors.”

That of course isn’t true, he’s argued for a lot more than that including restricting even on the number of bullets a weapon should be allowed to shoot (he wanted to cap it as three, saying “if you haven’t killed the deer by then, maybe it should get away).

People called him out for the lies at the Fox town hall.

Bloomberg also lied about no background checks at gun shows an internet sales.

Protesters tried to disrupt at the end of the question but Fox then went to commercial to clear them away. It sounded like they were anti gun-control people.
