The CNN/Des Moines Register/Mediacom Poll was expected to be released on Saturday night.

It was pulled at the last minute with the Des Moines Register saying that there had been a problem with a surveyor that had left off Pete Buttigieg’s name and they weren’t sure how much the poll had been affected so they pulled it, as we reported.

Supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) were not amused. Sanders had been surging and was leading or in a virtual tie with Joe Biden according to some polls. They were certain that the reason given for holding it back was likely because Sanders was leading.

Now the final results of the poll have been released not by the Register, but by Five Thirty Eight (after voting is over) and it’s shocking, to say the least.

Not only is Sanders in first, but Biden is fourth? Yikes. He’s the electable one? And Warren is doing better than expected. Now obviously, they’re not “official” because the Register hasn’t released them, but still not good for Biden.

This is only going to stoke the perception that it was held back because it was so shocking.

Five Thirty Eight, who released the poll, do say that this is just one poll and other polls put Sanders and Biden in a tighter match.

But the Register poll results and the word that Biden is not doing well on the ground now in Iowa is a bad sign for Biden.
