Former Vice President Joe Biden has been having all kinds of problems coming up with a proper response to the question of his son’s foreign business dealings in countries.

When queried by an Elizabeth Warren supporter about whether his son’s position on the board of companies with a connection to governments of Ukraine and China was right, Biden’s response was to call the man a “liar,” “fat” and “too old” to vote for him anyway.

But it’s a question that isn’t going away, and he faced another voter asking him about it this weekend.

Hunter Biden reportedly made over $50,000 a month for Burisma Holdings. Burisma’s founder was being investigated for corruption and he was also a minister in the government at the time. Hunter also was on the board of a company connected to the Chinese government. Both were while his father, the VP, was the point man for the Obama administration. His father even flew him to China to meet with one of the people with whom Hunter was making the deal.

Joe Biden’s staff was warned about the appearance of impropriety on this during the Obama administration. But nothing was done.

This weekend, Jill Biden went on MSNBC and tried to justify her stepson’s actions. Not only did she claim he did nothing wrong, she blamed Trump.

From Townhall:

“I know my son. I know my son’s character,” Jill Biden told MSNBC’s David Gura. “Hunter did nothing wrong and that’s the bottom line.” [….]

“You must have watched as your husband interacted with that voter in Iowa, very forcefully. There was a question about this. I imagine you and he [Joe] face questions about this from time to time on the campaign trail. What did you make of that response and how do you and he respond to the fact that this question keeps coming up?” the host asked.

Jill instantly turned the question into two parents defending their son against warrantless attacks.

“Well, I think that any parent who is watching this show knows that if anyone attacked their son or daughter, I mean, you don’t just sit down and take it,” she said with a half-hearted laugh. “I mean, you fight for your kid, and I think that shows that, you know, Joe’s going to stand up to bullies and bullies like Donald Trump. And it shows his strength and his tenacity and his resilience.”

“Interacted forcefully” is the new media softball for insulting a voter egregiously and acting like he had no right to even ask the question.

Pro tip? You don’t answer the questions about your son’s behavior by attacking voters and calling them bullies. Trump isn’t responsible for the actions of your son.

If you “know your son,” you know he’s had more than a few “character” issues — having a child with a stripper and cocaine come to mind.

The failure to answer or giving silly responses like “I never spoke to my son about it” as Joe Biden has done, as well as the failure to recognize how Americans perceive the actions, convinces people that there’s more there and makes people think he’s really not up to the job of president.
