The Army/Navy game was on Saturday.
President Donald Trump was in attendance. He received a rousing welcome and wished good luck to both sides.
The Army-Navy joint rendition of the National Anthem is perhaps the most beautiful rendition you will ever hear.
It will give you chills 🇺🇸
God bless America
And God bless the young, kickass men and women of our Armed Forces who fight for all of us#ArmyNavyGame #ArmyNavy2019 pic.twitter.com/ko7IIkgXtj

It was a fun rivalry week, and the @USNavy midshipmen earned a hard-fought win today. But tomorrow, it's back to business serving and fighting alongside each other. @WestPoint_USMA @NavalAcademy pic.twitter.com/sRD4ztvtb4

But then some folks on social media decided that a group of cadets and midshipmen were making white power signs.
They are well aware of what they are doing and think it’s funny. Disgusting. #ArmyNavyGame pic.twitter.com/mrpuIKrZGM

Seems like a big jump to conclusions. Looks more like the made-you-look “circle game” (hands are positioned down instead of up) than an OK sign (which some co-opted & trolled into a white power symbol). Maybe someone should ask what they were thinking before melting Twitter down. https://t.co/0a1frGLtRZ

You can even see the one midshipman trying desperately not to look so he doesn’t get punched in the shoulder, typical of the circle game.
But people tried to make it go viral to identify the students and ruin them.
Then the media picked it up and were off to the races.
USA Today is now accusing military students at the Army-Navy game of flashing a white power symbol — since it is upside down it looks more like the gotcha-made-you-look “circle game” than it does an OK sign (which some have tried to co-opt & troll into being a white power sign). https://t.co/NvvnuhlV1m

Ben why doesn’t your piece point out that they all made the hand gesture upside down such that it looks more akin to the made-you-look-gotcha “circle game” than it does an OK symbol? Why not at least accurately describe their actions at a bare minimum? This simply makes no sense. https://t.co/SEgZKySio2

More people pushed back.
Here we go again. This time it’s @ByMikeBrehm of @usatodaysports trying to ruin the lives of cadets for playing the circle game, because in some alternate reality they just MUST be white supremacists. At some point someone’s gotta bring a defamation case against these lunatics. https://t.co/2Y8iaB1kVw

Good lord. They were playing the circle game. America has gone insane. pic.twitter.com/jixG99ftmX

This is a warning to the media…
If you Convington the cadets, you will be held accountable in court in front of a jury and not in your comfortable, sympathetic blue enclave venue.
Do not participate in the defamation of these American heroes.@RonColeman @pnjaban @Barnes_Law

LOLing at the snowflakes triggered by the Army cadet flashing the 👌 sign.
You all think it's a #WhitePower sign, but in the military, it's the "made you look at the a-hole" sign
In your case, it's "made you look, a-hole." Because he did.

Great job defaming students who’ve signed up to put their life on the line for Americans.
West Point and Annapolis responded.
“We’re looking into it,” said Lt. Col. Chris Ophardt, a West Point spokesman, soon after the sign appeared on national television Saturday afternoon. “I don’t know what their intention is.”
“We are aware and will be looking into it,” said Annapolis spokeswoman Cmdr. Alana Garas.
The Pentagon didn’t respond immediately to a request for comment.
