Dems Indicate They Plan to Keep on Impeaching, Even If They Lose In Senate

How intent are Democrats about getting rid of President Donald Trump?

They know that even if they impeach Trump in the present proceeding for which they don’t even have an alleged charge, that the Senate, having seen how weak and political their case it, is likely to vote it down, with Trump remaining.

So now word is bubbling up from multiple Democrats that if it goes down, they will continue to try to impeach, even if Trump gets re-elected.

Rep. Al Green (D-TX) who has been pushing for impeachment since Trump was one, saying there was “no limit to how many times they could try.

From Daily Wire:

“A president can be impeached more than once,” Green advised. “So, we can do this, we can move forward with what we have on the table currently, we can take this before the Senate and we can still investigate other issues and when the president has committed additional offenses, and my suspicion is that he will, we can take those before the Senate.”

“There is no limit on the number of times the Senate can vote to convict or not a president, no limit to the number of times the House can vote to impeach or not a president,” Green continued. “So, my belief is that the speaker will probably say we’re going to move forward with what we have now, but we’re not going to end investigations and that there may be possible opportunities to do other things at a later time.”

So they’ll keep “investigating” (translate: witch hunt) until they can actually find something they think they can coalesce everyone around.

Neal Katyal, an acting solicitor general under former Democrat President Barack Obama and a frequent Trump antagonist, said that Trump could be retried if he wins reelection.

Katyal tweeted: “[Important] note on future: If the Senate doesn’t vote to convict Trump, or tries to monkey w his trial, he could of course be retried in the new Senate should he win re-election. Double jeopardy protections do not apply. And Senators voting on impeachment in the next months know this.”

And then there’s this tidbit from journalist Paul Sperry.

So if this is true, it indicate not only that they intend to keep trying, but they’ve been planning to get impeach him since they took over the House. Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist pretty much already confirmed this when she reported on overhearing Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) on the train back two years ago, talking about how to go about impeachment.

So let’s just dispense with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s protestations to the contrary about her care for the Constitution and how she doesn’t hate Trump. In the words of her own daughter, Pelosi will “cut your head off” if she can. And they don’t care who they hurt, how much they spend or how much they destroy or disrupt the country in the naked attempt to grab back power.

The only way to stop this is to grab back the House and hold the other two branches of government. And never let them get power again.
