Pelosi Undercuts Trump Overseas, Tells UN Climate Conference 'We're Still In' After Trump Pulled US Out of Paris Agreement

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, sets foreign policy, according to our Constitution.

But you wouldn’t know it listening to government officials the Democrats put on during the ‘not really impeachment inquiry’ proceedings. The whole theory of the case for Democrats and those witnesses seems to be that government officials get to tell the president what to do, that they get to set foreign policy.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) seemed to be afflicted with that same lack of understanding of our Constitution.

President Donald Trump has made it official that we are out of the Paris Climate Agreement in an official statement from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last month.

From The Blaze:

“President Trump made the decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement because of the unfair economic burden imposed on American workers, businesses, and taxpayers by U.S. pledges made under the Agreement,” the statement said. “The United States has reduced all types of emissions, even as we grow our economy and ensure our citizens’ access to affordable energy.”

But Pelosi, while with a Democratic congressional delegation she led to the COP 25 climate change conference in Madrid, told the people at the conference we were “still in,” according to Reuters.

“By coming here we want to say to everyone we are still in, the United States is still in,” Pelosi told reporters on the first day of the two-week United Nations climate talks in Spain. [….]

“Our delegation is here to send a message that Congress’s commitment to take action on the climate crisis is iron clad,” she said, flanked by Democratic Congressional representatives.

She seemed to have trouble just getting the words out.

Um, it’s not your job to make foreign policy. And why are you going overseas and undercutting U.S. foreign policy? She can talk on behalf of the Congress, she cannot speak on behalf of the United States.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) scolded her.

Meanwhile, the delegation which included House Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone (D-NJ), House Science Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX), Climate Crisis Committee Chairwoman Kathy Castor (D-FL), Natural Resources Chairman Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ). Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and nine other members of Congress expended how much in carbon emissions? For a speech that Pelosi could have videoed in? But then she and the others wouldn’t get to ride on the ‘free’ military flight to Europe.
