It must be difficult and frustrating for House Republicans dealing with the political manipulations of the House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) which have been on display during these impeachment proceedings.
Schiff has tried to cut off their ability to adequately question and call witnesses. He’s also made up, out of whole-cloth, his own interpretation of what was said on the July 25 call between President Donald Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky and told multiple lies during the hearings.
The Washington Post even busted him for claiming that there was a statutory requirement to keep the identity of the whistleblower anonymous. They gave him three Pinocchios for that lie. There is, of course, no such requirement. But Schiff has not only forbidden people from naming the whistleblower, reported to be Eric Ciaramella, he’s forbidden even discussing subjects that may relate to the whistleblower. This is particularly egregious because not only has it inhibited being able to question the whistleblower, it’s prevented his contacts with Schiff and/or his staff and connections to Joe Biden and other Obama administration members from being brought out during the hearings.
Impeachment is supposed to be for “high crimes” not if some anonymous person who wasn’t even on a phone call didn’t like what was said or if unelected Obama-holdover bureaucrats are unhappy about policy or being removed.
The Constitution holds it to be such a significant step, it’s supposed to be bipartisan. But this is far from that. Not one Republican is even on board with this proceeding and even two Democrats voted against the proceeding.
So given all that, it’s pretty hard to not imagine why all the Republicans haven’t just gotten up and walked out already.
But ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes perhaps said it all for all of us when he ended his time during the hearing last night and passed it on to Schiff, with a glorious slap.

Boom. Beastmode.
Gotta love the look on Schiff’s face.
But at this point, given how they’ve behaved, it’s really hard not to cheer Nunes for letting loose. It’s fully deserved.
