Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) held a town hall in her district last night and it turned into one for the books. Not because of any policy that she was trying to push but because of the reaction of one of the members of the audience.

A woman stood up and began decrying climate change, saying we only had a few months left, and that Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t moving fast enough. Then it really went over the slide. Have a listen as she demands that in order to stop the CO2 we have to “eat the babies.”

Now we were really hoping someone was not that ill. The delivery and “even if we bomb Russia” would suggest that. She even had an “eat the babies” shirt. And this morning, the LaRouche group is saying she was a troll, part of their group.

But the problem, of course, is that there is so much extremism when it comes to the climate change cult, one can never be completely sure. We’ve seen kids freaking out and crying desperately because they think the world is going to die in 18 months, 3 years or 12 years depending on whatever line it is they’ve been sold.

People like Ocasio-Cortez have stoked such fears with their extreme and false rhetoric.

So did AOC take any responsibility for the freak-out during her town hall? For cultivating a climate of crazy reactions? No.

While she does say we do have “more than a few months,” she really doesn’t do more than that. She doesn’t say no, we don’t need to eat the babies.

But she did go all-in on Twitter, blaming folks on the right for their reactions to the woman’s remarks and using the woman’s response as an excuse to push Medicare for all.

Twitchy picked up some of the pushback to Ocasio-Cortez.

Because the problem is no matter the story with this woman, Ocasio-Cortez and her ilk are fanning the flames of hysteria about climate change and a bunch of other things they paint as existential threats to gain more government control over us.

And that’s no joke.
